This is such an interesting unit yet I do not see any miniatures in 15mm. Am I missing something?

You need US figures with French helmets. Good luck.

I guess I'd go with Minifigs US troops and Peter Pig Adrian helmet heads. Old Glory does 15mm US troops, but they're a bit bigger than the Peter Pig figures.

If you wanted them in 20mm, Tumbling Dice makes them, including officers, artillery crews, and support weapons.

Oh, and if you like the 369th, you're going to love their sister regiments that made up the 157th Goybet Division of the French Army:

I'm still hoping that *someone* will take up the gauntlet and produce a movie of the exploits of these outstanding American soldiers. <sigh> Perhaps some day….

Sony has a picture in the works. It's based on the graphic novel The Harlem Hellfighters by Max Brooks. Yes I know, "graphic novel", "Mel Brooks' son", and "zombie expert" shouldn't inspire enthusiasm. However, I've seen several interviews with the guy, and he is both passionate and very knowledgable about the subject.

I also saw Sony looking at making this book as a movie. It may get other studios looking at making their story.

That said I am surprised that miniature manufactures were not showing interest in the AEF.

Why is American interest so limited in a war that cost it twice as many dead as Vietnam?

jony66306 Feb 2015 6:55 a.m. PST

Maybe, just maybe because Americans were taught in schools that it was not our war, it was a European problem. Incorrect but that is what is taught.

Lion in the Stars06 Feb 2015 8:02 p.m. PST

That and very little direct American involvement.

It's harder to explain to people.

In the public eye, world war 2 was "good", Vietnam was "bad".

WW1 (and Korea for that matter) are harder to summarize (ww1 had very few positive outcomes, particularly considering the cost and Korea ended as a stalemate which doesn't appeal to American mythology)

So nobody discusses them and consequently they are ignored.

I'm looking for the same thing, hopping Battle Front might do them one of these days… but I have only a littel hope.
