Long story short, bought and returned some FOW 15mm troops he listed here on the TMP market place. He said he had no problem refunding my money which he did partly before going "inactive" on this board. The guy stiffed me for $50.00 USD and has not answered any emails since mid December.

There should be a Judge Dredd for the gaming community. He wouldn't be very busy, but most of us would love to see him work.

Alas, I had hoped to be able to put in a good word for this guy Shane. He and I had a very pitiful painting contract deal fall through, and he promised to refund my money. After about 8 months he finally did refund $50 USD, promising to send more as he could because he was a college student, just got engaged, just moved….I know, seemed like a lot but I was trying to be patient. I haven't heard anything in months now, and from what I see here I figure I can write off ever hearing anything more. I'm not gaining anything by adding to the cry here for his head, but it's a little satisfaction for the major financial loss I took.

I also dealt with Shane and curiously enough it was also over some FOW german units he had placed for sale on the Marketplace.

This was back in December and I still have not received the items (due to his moving, his girlfriend not realizing Canada is a separate country hence she did not provide enough postage, he was on a business trip, he's sick, snowed in due to the snow that hit the U.S. etc…). As with Minis is my Waterloo I wanted to be patient but after seeing this post I must admit that I was rather foolish.

But in light of the fact that he did provide some reimbursement I am guardedly optimistic that he will see the light and I will get back some of the $100 USD USD (which is quite a lot when converted from Canadian currency)that I sent to him. Will put in a kind word should I receive partial or full reimbursement.

That's what I told him…honor your commitment and I will gladly give you kudos on here. He sent me $50 USD of the 150 he promised; I too am cautiously optimistic. If I don't hear from him again I just have to assume his troubles are greater than mine.

I cut ties with shane. He had a hard time understanding what the word truth ment. He told me he sent my painted FOW figures and gave me a tracking number. After a week I checked the tracking number and it was for a different client. When I called him on it he said he was almost finished my stuff and was sorry. I also had the girlfriend excuse a few times. She didn't send all of the order because she couldn't find the other box, she sent it to Oslo by mistake and they just got it back etc. Also the painting got worse over time as he felt the pressure to "finish" his obligations. I have 300 FOW figures sitting in a box waiting for me to repaint.

If this is the Shane that used the email "Supremegrognard" then my situation was very similar:

"He told me he sent my painted FOW figures and gave me a tracking number. After a week I checked the tracking number and it was for a different client. When I called him on it he said he was almost finished my stuff and was sorry. I also had the girlfriend excuse a few times. She didn't send all of the order because she couldn't find the other box". I also had a shipping answer too, but I live in the states.

As far as I'm concerned there is absolutely no excuse(except being dead or incapacitated) for not getting back to a customer or giving them the runaround.
If he can't do the work he should refund ALL the money and figures otherwise it's called stealing. I find some people on the site willing to let someone get away with this nonsense and not call it what it is.
