I just posted a video of my 14,000 painted Adler 1802-1807 Russians. There are 51 infantry regts., 27 cavalry regts. and 35 artillery batteries(6 gun sections each). The link is:
youtu.be/aOIcjX7fLx4 or look it up by entering "Adler 14,000". All of the infantry and a lot of the cavalry were painted by Miniaturesrilanka. I also took a lot of still photos….I am a little disappointed in the video. The original is much "clearer" than the youtube version.

Missed a turnback on one infantry guy in the back right of his regiment.

Seriously – very cool!

jeffreyw304 Feb 2015 5:54 p.m. PST

:) Just out of curiosity, why that period, and why so many?

Halifax4904 Feb 2015 5:55 p.m. PST

WOW!

Brian Smaller04 Feb 2015 5:58 p.m. PST

You need a steady cam. Looks like a labour of love.

To Jeffreyw3;
All my armies are 1 figure equals 10 real men, so all my armies are that large. In Napoleonic's, the glory years, 1805 thru 1809 are the most fun for us….and the French! But even though they were the French glory years the "Allies" could have beat the French if they had worked together(and have in some of our campaigns)! Also, with the Russians in this period you still have grenadiers with mitres, different color collars and cuffs, and lots of pretty cavalry.
to Brian;
I used a cell phone and it was my very first video! And it is a love of mine for 45 years!

Wow. Yes, a labor of love. My count was 14,010, but that could be because the camera was shaking a little.

Impressive. Most impressive.

Amazing! Your miniatures truly represent the armies of Napoleonic Russia. Small scale figures have advantages that are all their own.

GROSSMAN04 Feb 2015 9:02 p.m. PST

Now to paint 14,000 French!

18CTEXAN04 Feb 2015 9:49 p.m. PST

Dear Grossman,
Not to brag, but I already have in excess of 21,000 pre-1812 French…I got the Russians "out" to label their bases. And decided to "share" the spectacle as to how big the armies were of the period.

Outstanding work. Perhaps you can post pics of Austerlitz, Freidland or Eylau once these little guys are in action.

Historicalgamer05 Feb 2015 6:14 a.m. PST

Yikes.

But did you paint their lips????? :)

GROSSMAN05 Feb 2015 7:48 a.m. PST

Must be something about Texas because there was another poster named isttexas who had a 10,000 plus Russian and French troops from 1805-1807. Do you have any pictures?

isttexas was my original site….I just failed to keep up the blog and that is why I posted to youtube. You can see that my armies have increased considerably. That is thanks to Miniaturesrilanka painting service. I also added 7YW Adlers to my collection. I now have about 10,000 7YW Prussians and Austrians painted.

Markconz06 Feb 2015 3:51 a.m. PST

Jolly good sir! A fine collection! Maybe some photos too, of better quality?

18CTEXAN06 Feb 2015 8:26 a.m. PST

"To All"
Thanks for all the input. I appreciate "yawl" taking the time to respond. I do have lots of photos…much clearer than video, but haven't had time to upload. I am still trying to label the 14,000+ Russians. Believe me! It takes a very long time to label over 1,500 bases! Also, I am setting up to play a big campaign game and that is taking all the remaining "free" time.
Thanks again.

MarbotsChasseurs06 Feb 2015 10:24 a.m. PST

I was thinking this might be you! You had mentioned before that you had Prussians as well? Also what are the base sizes for infantry and cavalry for your russians?

I am doing the same project starting with my French dragoon division and Lestocq Prussian cavalry force.

Thank You
Michael

Markconz06 Feb 2015 9:24 p.m. PST

Fair enough Texan, and yes let the campaign game take priority (and maybe photograph that too! ;))
