Guys, Been reading through a bunch of the recent threads and checking out all the pdf downloads on the site and I'm seriously thinking about picking this up – however the only US stockist I can find is OMM and they want $68 USD for it. I'm actually not super-opposed to paying that if necessary (as a former GW junkie I've paid a lot more for less lol) but I'm curious as to how good the system is. Anyone want to chime in and tell me what's great about the game? Also, any suggestions on alternative (cheaper) sources for getting a copy of the rules would be appreciated :) Thanks! |

Bob Recreational Conflict is the US distributor of rules and Ainsty 15mm vehicles recreationalconflict.com I've just checked and their rule price is $42.50 USD The links page on the Slammers site link might be of help to you in your quest! John T |

I think this game rocks! I really like the activation system. Your commanders each generate a random number of Leadership Points (LPs) each turn (which is added to a base amount for that commander) and the commander then uses these LPs to activate units sequentially to move, shoot, spot, etc. At an increased price the commander can focus more attention on a single unit to activate it (move, move, move) multiple times with each additional activation using a greater share of the Leadership Points pool. This 28mm QRF gives a good flavor for this – PDF link I also like the long ranges of the weapons and the simple combat resolution system. I found that you definitely should use the optional Overkill rule or you may have problems killing the big boys – our first game we left this out, but ever since always included it. OBTW, only one of our players actually uses one of the stock units and vehicles. The rest of us used the profiles and various other 28mm vehicles to proxy up forces. |

When I started down the 15mm path there were a lot of folks talking about the books. After reading them I was a big fan, so getting the rules was a no brainer, even if they were just going to be something I left on the shelf. However the game is excellent so its been win win for me. |

Email sent, cloudcaptain! Thanks for the link, John T – going to see if I can figure something out with cc for the book but I like the look of the Ainsty models so once I get it I'm sure I'll be checking out their site for some forces :) LostPict and McWong73 thanks for the comments, very useful! |

Lostpic I agree on the overkill rule: it makes the bigger weapons more devastating (as they should be). And Mcwong: as ever, glad you like 'em. Have fun Bob! John T |

Still waiting for the PDF set….. Don't do deadtree any more… |

I understand, infojunky. All I can say (before that happens*) is that almost half of everything you need to play the game already is a pdf (and free). Meanwhile the book is still just a thing: like all possessions – in a worst case scenario – it's just another (hopefully quite pretty) thing to gawk at on one's coffee table… John T * and who knows what the future may bring? Only Pireme (the publishers) can decide on that one… |

Got my copy this morning (thanks meustrader!) and it looks incredible! Just the eye candy alone has me drooling all over myself. Can't wait to get home and give it a good read :) |
