Since the Editor in chief has chosen to ignore the usual protocols about new Boards in today's Poll TMP link I have decided to give this one particular period its own Poll suggestion. The creation of such a Poll is of course entirely up to the Editor in Chief, as is its implementation. Why am I doing this? Mainly to try to nudge us back into the usual protocol, where a straight yes/no question of "Would you support a Board for…" requires 40 YES. "Democracy" is not an issue here. Let's be honest. A new Board will always lose a yes/no vote because too many will always vote against new Boards. The issue is whether TMPers would initiate new threads/topics, and participate in the discussion. The current threshold is 40 people to support the Board. That to me is far better. So, I am proposing a Board that would incorporate everything from the Alamo (and if there are earlier conflicts) to Pancho Villa. AND you can crosspost to anything else that tickles your fancy! Include the Maximilian Adventure? Sure. Why not? Straight yes/no. No weasel no opinion answers. Would you support a Board for the Mexican American Wars? 1) YES 2) NO |

I would. Crimean War or Franco Prussian? Schleswig Holstein? Probably not, but then I know only as much as a casual reader would. I will play in any games, but have no interest in putting one on. I would of course not hesitate to throw in my own $0.02 USD though. Maybe I would. YMMV |

Well..if it's historical…then no… if it's modern, as in "the crap going on on our borders today and future issues", then that is covered in "Ultramodern" and I think Tango has a grip on it…so I would probably vote "no" all the way around….. |

Damn straight, I would! Of course, it's only a coincidence that not only being a subject of great personal interest (and major investment in painted 15mm armies, and a good length of shelf space for contemporary histories and works since), the Mex-Am War is the subject of TVAG's dedicated rules set, "Gone To See The Elephant." Now in the final playtest stage, and the ms only awaiting some possible, mostly minor adjustments, and the addition of interior illustrations, release is anticipated in March. So, if only to hear folks praise/damn the work, as well as share information and enthusiasm for a much under appreciated conflict, "YES," I want that board! TVAG |

If someone would like to see another board and the only thing I have to do is support that, why would I be opposed ? This is already a reason to vote YES. Another reason would be if finally someone could explain to me, a foreigner thousands of miles away, why everyone remembers the Alama, but no one ever mentiones Goliad, where three weeks later twice as many Texians (if this is a correct spelling) were murdered. |

12 YES votes in less than 5 hours. Methinks that if this were put to the usual "Would you support…." poll that would collect 40 affirmatives. |

Yes I was just thinking of this war, as yesterday, Feb. 2, is the anniversary of the Treaty of Hidalgo, or Mexican Surrender Day. I was thinking that would make a great day to start having parties. |

Yes, & yes there were battles before the Texas Revolution which included American Filibusters & Indians allied with Mexican Republicans vs Spanish Royalist troops (a certain Lt. Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna was in the Royalist ranks at the 1813 Battle of Medina near San Antonio). These were large affairs for the time & place with several hundred combatants on each side. |

28 YES votes from people who would support a Board. I think it would easily garner the required 40 if put to an actual poll. |
