Not like I ever left it, but I slowed down ALOT on it, and I'm curious, what tanks should I buy for my Imperia- I mean Astra Militarum? and I mean I'd like to know if there's any 40K friendly, non-GW tanks that look awesome and won't break my bank, as it stands, i plan on buying a load of new Marines/Orks/Chaos, but Guard Models i can generally get third party. I looked at Warzone tanks but they're mostly Ebay and even more expensive than GW's Russ's. I'm mostly not really for cost(even though I'm trying to cut back on cost) wanting to make my army look more unique. I currently use Warzone Bauhaus Ducal Militia for Guardsmen, and Hussar's for Tempestus Scions. |

Was hoping someone might have known of some awesome Sci-fi tanks, otherwise i had plans on sticking with WWII/WWI German tanks and maybe buying Leman Russ turrets, or something. |

You could look at the Ramshackle tanks. I have a couple, they have the 40k aesthetic. Puppet's War has some interesting stuff as well. |
Mithmee | 02 Feb 2015 6:59 p.m. PST |
As Skippy as stated check for 1/35th Scale vehicles. Like M2 Bradley's for Chimeras Warrior IFV for Command Tracks Also the many World War II vehicles. |

the Ramshackle tanks(particularly the Rhebok Tansport Vehicle and battle Dog's look AMAZING. as for my original idea(before 7th edition) I made my own codex and had, removed a few things, made my army primarily Bullet/Slug based so I removed laser's/plasma/mutants. even. mostly what I'm looking for is big bore cannon's I noticed most rl tank's have rather small bore cannon's compared to 40K. so I was trying to veer away from them, even though a King Tiger as a baneblade at 1/35 or 1/30 scale would have been awesome |
Lion in the Stars | 02 Feb 2015 7:29 p.m. PST |
A 1/35 scale Merkava is right about the same size as a Baneblade… |

A company made a game called ROBOGEAR , a failed attempt at a wargame tha ti have never seen playe d, but if you can get one of the boxed sets cheap enough on Ebay it will give you allot of options to include in your army especially a couple of small tracked vehicles and some nifty walkers cheers Tom |

Revell has some snap-tite kits that they've pre-painted crazy colors (easily painted over). They're 1/48 and look pretty decent IMO. They also cost $10 USD-14. Here's an example with stock pre-paint work:

those tanks, their price, kinda what I'm not looking for, lol. 56-66 USD, about as expensive as Leman Russ tanks, lol. |

I would recommend using wwI kits of British tanks |

Sindri, vk.com/album-28784290_147338158 (Russian site that I highly recommend – no bugs or traps that I've found) has 257 paper models, more than you'll ever need – you'll need to scale up for 28mm but these are WH40k, quality, free and paper is reasonably durable. I add all sorts of command, recovery and various AA/AT variants, based on modern tank/afv variants. Have a great day, Foxtrot |

Honestly I would keep my eye on eBay for low price deals. If you are patient you can pick up tanks for $10 USD-12.00. I also recently got back into 40K, and filled out my ranks fairly cheaply. I also was able to make trades with fellow players who have over stocked their stuff. Points are also going to dictate what you can get. The local group here plays at 1700 points, so fielding a huge force of tanks can be limiting. |

Yeah. Go old school and get Rouge Trader figures. Lots of character in those figs. |
Mithmee | 03 Feb 2015 1:12 p.m. PST |
How about these. Academy Warrior MCV 'Iraq 2003' Military Land Vehicle Model Building Kit link M2 Bradley auction You do not have to pay GW prices if you know where to look. |

I toyed with the idea of doing up "double duty" proxies… 1/48 German (or American, or British, or Russian, WWII or modern) tanks and vehicles and 28mm figures that stood in as IG proxy when I wanted to do 40K, or served as what they really are for 28mm WWII or modern games. |

I would recommend Aoshima's 1/48 modern vehicles. Specifically, the JGSDF vehicles, as most people are unfamiliar with modern Japanese tanks. They are ultramodern and unfamiliar enough to make great "sci fi" vehicles; or with a little kitbashing, form the good basis for "sci fi" vehicles.
1/48 Type 10 Main Battle Tank hlj.com/product/AOS00186/Mil1/48 Type 89 ICV hlj.com/product/AOS00079/Mil1/48 Type 87 SPAAG hlj.com/product/AOS00447/MilNote that HLJ doesn't tend to carry stock on hand, but I have ordered all of these kits in the last month and only took about a week or two to get them in stock (and then a week for shipping). I just built the 1/48 SPAAG and it was quick-build (especially if you don't motorize it) and looks nice and big for 40k models. |

I have been toying (oh bad pun) with picking up old Rogue Trader Space Marines. I sold my collection almost 20 years ago. Are there any forums out there with a good selection of the old "beaky" Marines at better prices than e-bay. |
Lion in the Stars | 03 Feb 2015 8:12 p.m. PST |
Unfortunately, no, I don't think you're likely to get much better than evilBay prices on old Beakies. |
