I use 10mm, reading all measurements as cm not inches. My infantry units (we take as Battalions) are based on 6 x 20mm bases, for a frontage of 120mm What frontage should the cavalry equivalent be on? |

What size do you want your horse units? Regiment or squadron? |

That's the thing – BP calls them units – game wise they are equivalent to a infantry unit, so I'm guessing regiment |

Now I'm only just getting into this period, so my knowledge is very thin. But I've read somewhere else on here (can't find the thread now sorry) that two infantry battalions should roughly share the same frontage as three cavalry squadrons. Does that sound right or am I just making this up? I think I'll be basing my foot (just picked up four battalions worth of toy soldiers from the wonderful Pendraken Miniatures) similar to you, with 3 20x40 bases for a 120mm frontage. Therefore, would a squadron of horse make sense as a 'small' unit in BP terms, with an 80mm frontage? Hope I can be of some help! EDIT: like a goomba I accidentally wrote infantry battalions twice instead of three cavalry squadrons. D'oh! |
