16 days 1 hour and 51 minutes to end of online registration closing--midnight Friday Feb 13th.

Oddball29 Jan 2015 5:44 a.m. PST

Be nice if the GM's could register some time soon. Still can't get into the system.

2 messages, 1 week, no reply.

Let's me know I'm wanted as a GM.

Moe the Great29 Jan 2015 9:56 a.m. PST

So it's not just me.

Oddball,

I'm surprised to hear that there are still GMs who can't pre-register. Over two weeks since pre-registration opened and, according to you, not all the GM badges are in the system yet.

As I said before, perhaps if the GMs start to cancel games that will get their attention.

There should also be an HMGS membership meeting on Friday night, if they follow past history. If you have issues with the way you have been treated, you should plan to stop by and make your views known to the BOD.

Lastly, you can do what Moe did--just go ahead and pay. But if I did that, I doubt I would run any games.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I've let HMGS know about how I feel the GMs are treated. I've always thought that the GMs should get first crack at pre-reg as they are the ones who are hauling stuff to the cons, putting hours into the games and giving of their free time.

Getting cut $20 USD on admission for 8 to 10 hours (planning game, prep for game, running game and set up/break down of game) of work isn't such a great deal.

I've sent 2 email to HMGS already over the last week. No reply.

Eight days left to pre-register online for Cold Wars 2015!

capncarp05 Feb 2015 9:40 p.m. PST

Correction: NOW there are only eight days left to pre-register online.

I can't even renew my membership. The whole site just runs in circles. Or is it me? I know I'm "techno challenged" but always got it to work before………..

The new website is definitely problematic. There's not even an easy way to find out what you're already signed up for.

3 1/2 days left!

And still no pictures of the t-shirt or what the print being raffled off will look like.

historygamer09 Feb 2015 12:26 p.m. PST

Theme: "The End of the American Civil War: The Beginning of the End!"

Whaaaat? What on earth does that mean? So then will Hcon be the end of the end, or just the middle of the end? I'm confused. :-)

Sometimes they can overthink these themes.

And yes, no pictures of the tshirt. I wonder how that affects sales?

capncarp09 Feb 2015 10:07 p.m. PST

I just pre-registered for the con, and reserved my spots in games for Friday and Saturday.

historygamer10 Feb 2015 8:13 a.m. PST

Apparently Cold Wars has two themes. Listed on the HMGS Con webpage:

"Theme: American Civil War 1865 – 150 Years"

Listed on the convention's webpage:

"The End of the American Civil War: The Beginning of the End!"

So, which is it? Or, is it both? Personally, I like the one that has the word "end" in it twice. I'm holding out for:

"The American Civil War – the end of the End!" I like the exclamation point too, as evidently it needs to be shouted when read aloud. Or should it be in a all caps? :-)

Hey, let's translate it into Russian and then post it in WingDings™ font! That way everybody should know what it says.

historygamer10 Feb 2015 8:39 a.m. PST

Sounds like a plan.

Whatever the theme is, I'll be there along with some friends. :-)

Let's hope the weather cooperates.

BTW, midnight (EDT)Friday 02/13/15 is only 85.33 hours away!

Sad to say, the website Hobby University Link is up but not populated with anything but an "under construction" sign.
Sigh.

Two days left! Pre-reg closes tomorrow night at one second after 2015-02-13 23:59:59 EDT!

"Sad to say, the website Hobby University Link is up but not populated with anything but an "under construction" sign."

Perhaps that information has also been placed with a list of vendors who are also attending.

Or any of the BOD minutes since July 2012.
