Is "ABN" a recognised abbreviation for "Airborne"? If so, I must admit I've never seen it before.

I have seen ABN listed for Airborne.

I think the "ABN" is more of a modern acronymn type thing. I've seen it many times in my US Army service, but not so much in reading history etc.

I too have a FoW 82nd Airborne company; I particularly like the 75mm pack howitzers.
