"Two heavily armed gunmen stormed a luxury Tripoli hotel favored by top Libyan officials and visiting delegations on Tuesday, killing at least eight people including four foreigners before blowing themselves up, authorities said. Shooting erupted inside the five-star Corinthia Hotel and security forces evacuated guests, including Tripoli's prime minister and an American delegation, after gunmen blasted through the building's security and reception. It was one of the worst assaults targeting foreigners since the 2011 civil war that ousted Muammar Gaddafi and fractured the oil-producing North African state into fiefs of competing armed groups with two national governments both claiming legitimacy…" Full article here link Amicalement Armand |

Now don't get me started about the 2011 NATO intervention in the Libyan civil war which toppled Muammar Gaddafi by establishing a no-fly zone being a huge mistake. At least the US is not trying too hard to make the same error in Syria. |

The "Arab Spring" turned in a Cluster thru out the region. Had promise, but like many things in that part of the world, it didn't take long for much of it to go to ! |

Revolution is messy. It takes time, effort, and blood and doesn't sit well with the immediate gratification mentality of the West. |

CFeicht, this is not longer revolution. This is a failed state and what has happened reeks of Afghanistan in 1992 after Soviet funding dried up or Somalia after General Mohammad Barre was toppled in 1991. Neither country have had anything resembling peace since. Certainly no long term resolution, let alone "immediate gratification." |

Neither country have had anything resembling peace since. And probably won't anytime soon, regardless of what the West tried or tries to do … In some cases, it turned out the West's involvement made things get worse … but sometimes it's hard to tell. So many in the area and near by regions are just so up … |
