I've got a 28mm figure that will make a great 15mm statue. I'd like to mount it on a pedestal and have it look like tarnished bronxe. How can I get that dark bronze look with areas of greeny-blue? |

I usually paint dark brown, drybrush with dark metallic bronze, wash with greeny-blue. For a newer statue, I paint with dark metallic bronze acryllic paint, then wash with greeny-blue oil paint. |

Mix bronze with some black and dark green. I use enamels, and so the metalluc doesn't completely mix with the flat colours, thereby leaving a few semi-shiny bits. |

Vallejo sells a greenish patina color/wash. I imagine it goes over a base coat of bronze. Anyone ever try it? |

White prime. Paint with GW Tin Bitz. Dry brush with a nice bronze color. Muddy it up with Tamiya Smoke, or a Ceramcote dark color. Finally, drybrush with Ceramcote Wedgewood Green. Drybrush some white for pigeon offerings. |

There used to be an article on GW's web site (UK or US? I can't remember) about painting castles. One such was a Chaos castle witha big bronze 'logo' IIRC, the method was: prime black. basecoat with a mid green (Jade Green? kinda slightly turquise-ey green, if that makes sense), then a heavby bronze drybrush, then drybrush with lighter shades of bronze, gold to taste. |

I would suggest prime black. Drybrush with a greeny blue, then add white to that and drybrush some more. Then add a very light drybrush of bronze. |

I have painted a awning on a model with dark bronze metalic, I primed it black, painted it dark bronze metalic, then dry brushed it polished bronze, then I made a teal green color, which I spot painted this in areas that would get standing water and made it overflow down thw awning in streaks. Then I added white to this teal 4 seperate times to highlight the tarnished areas. Final step was a spec of white in some places to look like the white powder that the tarnish leaves. It looked good, Sorry no pictures I sold it. Clay Crutcher Modelers Attic |
