We've been playing Alpha Strike lately. It scratches out Battletech itch without taking so bloody long to play. So, I decided that I needed to acquire and paint even more of my battlemechs. This is what I did last week. These are from Catalyst's Alpha Strike Lance Packs (Assault and Pursuit lances.. Well-detailed plastic mecha for any giant stompy robot battle.

Good stuff. I really like the tan camo pattern. I am also a big fan of Alpha Stike. It really makes BattleTech a more playable game. I just wish I had more time to play it. |

Love the Battletech background. Found the core game too slow and clunkyl Alpha Strike has been great fun. Playing with a dozen Inner Spere Mechs, couple of tank companies, APC's, conventional infantry, battle armour, VTOL'S, artillery, , aerospace fighters anr bombers,, Star of Clan Mechs, all on table top at same time has proved to be no problem. |

I just grabbed a pack today at Historiconm. What a great little set! Wonderful plastic castings with the necessary cards no less. I've got to get myself more of these! |

This is the best product Catalyst has done for BattleTech yet. Actually for Alpha Strike. ;-) We love Alpha Strike, and I love these revised plastics! Pull them out of the box and paint them. No fuss, no muss. And more are on the way, including the Clans! |

Oh, and really nice paint work there! My only quibble would be to black out the base rims, or paint them some neutral color. But wow, great work! |

I am curious, how is the quality vs. say the metal iron wind metals models? I have a few of those ones but I have never seen the plastic models. My kids are interested in playing Alpha Strike but I am somewhat of a miniatures fanatic and I don't typically buy cheap stuff. Iron Wind metals is rather expensive though so I am curious how these new models stack up. |

We've been playing Alpha Strike lately. It scratches out Battletech itch without taking so bloody long to play. I still love the original BattleTech for its depth of play and detail, but honestly I just don't have time to play it in larger than one-on-one battles. For lance or larger size games, I think Alpha Strike is the way to go. Oh, nice job on the miniatures, they look really good! I am curious, how is the quality vs. say the metal iron wind metals models? The older plastic and resin battlemechs are noticably inferior to the metal RP or IWM metal miniatures. In the last couple years though, Catalyst has been releasing some vastly improved plastics and many people agree they are close to, if not as good as, the IWM metals. |

Is it safe to say then the new Alpha Strike miniatures (4 per box) are just as good/comparable to IWM figures? The price is certainly better than the metal ones. |

who cares . they are yours and they work! nice paint patterns. |

IMHO, the revised plastics Catalyst is doing now approach the quality of IWM's metal offerings. They just don't have the sheer variety and the more dynamic poses. And there's more to come, too! So it's good times for fans of plastic BattleMechs! |
