I've just finished off a small unit of Vendean Rebels that I've had almost complete for a while now. I badly gashed my hand at work and I've now got time to finish of a few things… though its slow and painful. I didn't realise how right handed I was until I tried using mainly my left.

Anyway, here's the figures. They're from Allan Toullier (I hope that's spelled correctly) and the flag is one of my own and is available in 15mm or 28mm.

More pictures on my blog, here…

Thanks for looking,
Colin

I painted up some of these figures as well but do not have a set of rules to go with them. Alan Touller's website has been closed for some time now so I do not know if it is possible to buy any more of these figures.

If you are going 'white crazy' from painting Austrians why not try some 15mm Battle Honours Suvarov Russians. They fought with the Austrians against the French in 1799. The figures and uniforms are really nice.

Do you have a particular rule set for the 1800 period?

Regards

I'm going to use General de Brigade for Marengo. I have no plans to expand the Venee, but if the figures become available again I'll probably be tempted.

The French figures, and these, have helped with the white problem. I've also been doing some Austrian Light's in grey, so I should be back to finishing a German Grenadier Battalion this week.

Hi Eclipsing Binaries,

It's good to see your work again. I really like your French heavy cavalry figures. Pardon me if I missed this, but who is the manufacturer of your French heavy cavalry? They look really nice.

I have a handful of AB Figures Spanish dragoons in bicornes which I haven't yet painted as my own French heavy cavalry.

You might already know this, but Blue Moon has announced that it will eventually make figures for the French Revolutionary Wars. I have no idea when they'll be available.

Eclipsing Binaries23 Jan 2015 6:46 a.m. PST

The Heavy Cavalry are Spanish Cavalry from Warmodelling, which are currently unavailable from a UK seller. You can get them direct from Warmodelling in Spain, or if you have problems getting on their site like I do, you can also order from Campaign Games Miniatures. I have another set to paint, and another in the post, to cover the 20e and 21e.

I had heard that Blue Moon has plans, but as their Napoleonic range is far from complete it could take a while.

Great looking figures Colin. We use Piquet to fight our Vendean battles.

Can I get a copy of the flag in 15mm? I would find that very useful and a colorful addition to the collection.

Eric, email me at cdbaillie@blueyonder.co.uk

I have 6 Vendee flags currently available and charge a small fee to cover print costs and delivery. I'm supplying three flags per sheet, two of them nice and clean, and a third a bit more muddied and worn.

And I've just looked at your blog… again. I've been on there before and it was you're posts that got my interested in this part of the Revolutionary Wars.

Nice unit Colin, really interesting!

they look very nice

Thanks for all the great feedback. I have the other mounted command figures and the personalities as well. They are all very nice, and would benefit from better painting than I can manage.

I'll post comparison pictures as some point, showing these with other figures in my collection.

Get as much practice doing things left-handed as possible. As soon as we take over the world the first thing in the bin is "regular" scissors.

And regular can openers. I can never get them to work.

Interesting range from les Carabiniers Cassique bruntonboy. Has anyone seen them?

bruntonboy23 Jan 2015 1:26 p.m. PST

I have a couple of packs- larger sized 15's. Multi poses per pack, quite dynamic posing a la Old Glory.

Thanks bruntonboy.

I've placed a small order from Stonewall for some of the Les Carabiniers Cassique figures. I ordered a set of Republican Generals, a set of Grenadier command and some Royalist Volunteers. I'll post up a review when I receive them.

Order from Les Carabiniers Cassique received. Review is now on my blog at link

I knew that. What confused was that one "General" was carrying a flag/standard, which I doubt would have happened often, and the figures in shako and bearskin were hard to identify.

Great stuff!!
