I just watched the first part of a TV series called "Wolf Hall" Its about the life of Thomas Cromwell in the time of Henry VIII. Its Quite intense and slow moving and at the same time gripping. Recommended. Hunlion |

Loved the books and this looks like good TV too! |

Loving this -apparently the media back lash is based on a tweet from a dim wit who didn't understand it. It is superb. |

I read that it shows Cromwell in a good light and Sir Thomas Moore in a very bad light. If that's true, so much for historical accuracy! |

Cromwell is coming out as a bit of a bruiser now -I've read this to and I'm confused as More is portrayed as a man of principle and belief and Cromwell as a fixer.'A Man for all Seasons' is the antidote!! Still a great drama. |

"A Man For All Seasons" is one of my favorite movies of all time! |

Wolf Hall is a bit slow though I am not gripped by it. I like it, it is interesting and there hasn't been anything like it on TV for a while that I can recall. I wouldn't think it as historically accurate as it is only the authors view of things. |

Depends what you mean by historically accurate. The 'events' happened – the reasons imputed to people's actions in them are another matter. They are as open to interpretation as they ever were. A lot depends on whether you think the Protestant Reformation was a 'good thing' or not (whatever the reason for its promulgation in Britain), Discuss :^) |

After I have watched Wolf Hall the telly is reclaimed by the rest of the family and it's wall to wall Made in Chelsea, Kardashians,Essex, Georgie Shore, Bake offs, next top models and endless bastards in kitchens going through to the next round. Wolf Hall is an oasis as far as I'm concerned!! |

If it has come to my part of the U.S., I haven't been able to locate it. Since I am not a big Thomas More fan, I am looking for anything that is willing to that challenges the "Man for All Seasons" myth. |

Latest episode More v Cromwell was excellent -I think you'd have liked it Bill N!! In fact a friend of mine is an extra in this -he was at More's trial nodding sagely and was also present at the burning of a heretic that More sent to stake. |

You will like this then Bill! Never liked the way More, who loved a bit of torture in his spare room, was whitewashed in A Man For All Seasons. When choosing school for the offspring a few years ago, one of the choices was the local Catholic school which had a shrine to More. I took great delight in pointing out More's habits and asked if that sort of man was an appropriate role model. |

The "no harm" confrontation in More's cell was superb. |

All over now until Hilary Mantel finishes the third book. I will miss Master Cromwell and what has been a fantastic piece of television. |

Moore like a Maldives of quality in an ever-rising ocean of dross, Mashrewba; don't get swamped. |

Thanks Henry – to be honest when all that stuff is on I pop up to 'The Soldier Room'!! |
