So with newly painted figs we played Victory without Quarter this past Saturday. Just at 600 figs. 45 total units and 6 guns. 11 players, each handling a command with 5 units. Card driven game ended with a good conclusion in 3.5 hours.

Very fun Jeff! The Cavalry charges kept going back and forth, while the event card produced more than one humorous moment. |

Good Lord! When I read the title of your post I thought you had painted 600 figures in 3.5 hours! It's been taking me a week to get through a unit of 18, and that's speed painting (no wash or highlights). |

Well I guess I could paint 600 1mm figs in 3.5 hours. |

Impressive, but 28mm still don't persuade my eye that it's looking at a battle. There's no rank and fill mass effect. Try doing ten times as many figures and playing on a tennis court? |

As a big VWQ player and wanting to do a big multiplayer game I would be interested in the mechanics of handling many players in a game and keeping it flowing? Did each pair of players have a section of table? |

Hey John, Each player had 5-6 units. The Commanders decided were everyone would set up. I refereed the game and concentrated on pulling the cards and keeping the game moving. If card A was active and the next card B was also from the same side or far enough not to effect A then I allowed B to move at the same time. Same with C and D For the first few turns until contact was imminent I only used 'brigade cards' instead of individual cards. With a Brigade card the player moved everything under his command. Mike |

Hey Mike, we use brigade cards at the start as long as all units in a command are performing the same task like advancing, marching. That also adds a good ECW feel I think. I get what your saying on the card drawing, we will give that a try Do you still have one event card and how many reload and artillery cards do you have on a game that size? John |
