Ok, is it me or have the rest of you saw the insane prices folks are selling the Mordheim stuff for on eBay, etc…. As for me.. my colleciton is almost complete…. After the resurgence of interest after buying Mordheim City of the Damned on Steam.. I busted out some of my models and decided to start playing again… there is no lack of players at least for me…. but I find myself waxing nostalgic for "completing" the set…. Where do you guys/gals go to find Mordheim figures other than eBay…. all of the places I have looked come up empty handed…. I am only missing the 2 warbands…. 1. The Carnival of Chaos.. warband and wagon. 2. Possessed warband.. all of them I am also missing some odds and ends…. Marquand and Uli The Roadwarden The Highway man The coach The Beast in the woods I have 6 of the 9 Ostlanders…. looking for the rest… The mounted and on foot models for the Marionbergers and Reiklanders The freelance knight…. I am also missing 2-3 of the witchhunters. Later releases not from the box set. And, well.. I think that about does it. I just missed out on the complete Ostlander war band including orge merc on eBay….. So, how much do you guys play anymore and where do you go to get your missing figures? |
snurl1 | 20 Jan 2015 10:05 p.m. PST |
I haven't played in awhile but you can find a lot of the figures in Wally's Basement. |
Poniatowski | 21 Jan 2015 5:06 a.m. PST |
I have been looking pretty closely.. I have been stricking out… I will be more attentive at CW. THANKS for the tip!!! |
Stepman3 | 04 Jun 2015 3:48 a.m. PST |
Are you bringing any Mordhiem stuff to game with at H-Con? I wanna play but never have… |
snurl1 | 16 Jun 2015 1:00 a.m. PST |
I'd be up for a game at Fall-in. |
Poniatowski | 25 Aug 2015 9:42 a.m. PST |
Now you are talking…. as I am the CD, I will have a nice big table to play on AFTER hours since I will be busy most of the daylight hours. I will see if I have enough salvageable buildings to put on an intro game/PICK-UP game… not on the books to teach beginners. I was able to pick up Marquand and Uli at Cold Wars this year thanks to a very reasonable seller!!! Awesome figures and an awesome price! |
snurl1 | 26 Aug 2015 8:42 p.m. PST |
I think I have enough Mordheim buildings to cover it. I can bring them if you want. |
snurl1 | 28 Aug 2015 12:56 a.m. PST |
As long as the game is on Friday night. Previous engagement on Saturday, sorry. |
Borderguy190 | 30 Aug 2015 8:25 p.m. PST |
Hoping to get to Fall-In. I would love to get involved in an after hours Mordheim intro with my 15yo son. |
Poniatowski | 01 Sep 2015 7:17 a.m. PST |
I can and will try to make this happen… since it will be into stuff… to dust the books off and my brain off… I wouldn't expect to get much done except teaching and some little stuff. Drinking, hanging out and talking about the rules, etc… What do you folks think about maybe doing an after hours Mordheim club at night during the shows? I make CW & F-I! regularly, sometimes family events/vacation prevent me form going to Hcon. Just a thought… I know it is a long time to wait between games, but it would be well worth it I think…. at least it would be getting to play in my book! It would even spark me to finish painting a lot of my collection. Lets try to keep this fresh in our heads!!!! dan |
snurl1 | 01 Sep 2015 9:22 p.m. PST |
Where do I sign up? For Fall in on Friday night- Bring a warband. 500 gold crowns worth. See you in the streets. |
Stepman3 | 10 Sep 2015 9:26 a.m. PST |
Dan, I want in…I've never played, but want to do some Witch Hunters. Do I have to have the "official" GW miniatures or could appropriate substitutes be allowed? |
snurl1 | 10 Sep 2015 9:27 p.m. PST |
Substitutes are OK by me. But not one point over 500 and no sling spam, please. |
Stepman3 | 11 Sep 2015 12:48 a.m. PST |
"sling spam", what's that? |
snurl1 | 15 Sep 2015 2:20 a.m. PST |
Thats when you decide to be WAAC and arm most of your war band with slings. |
snurl1 | 28 Sep 2015 8:45 p.m. PST |
OK it is on. I will provide the buildings and playing surface. Dan, please find us a table, hopefully somewhere near the bar. Bring a 500 point war band, and a copy (printed) of it's rules if it is one of the Not-in the-book war bands. Please try and limit it to official Town Cryer, Fanatic, or White Dwarf war bands, for this first game anyway. Of course the war bands in the Mordheim rule book are OK too. |
snurl1 | 29 Sep 2015 12:54 a.m. PST |
Also, I will just GM the game if need be, depending on how many players we have. |
Keifer113 | 03 Oct 2015 5:57 p.m. PST |
If you were in Maryland I'd let you comb through my fantasy miniatures graveyard, I had a bunch of Mordheim figures that I will never use. |
Stepman3 | 05 Oct 2015 5:08 a.m. PST |
Keifer, where in Maryland are ya? I might be interested in your figures… |
Stepman3 | 05 Oct 2015 5:11 a.m. PST |
|
snurl1 | 05 Oct 2015 8:06 p.m. PST |
Hey Keifer113 – Bring them along to Fall-In on Friday night, somewhere near the bar where you see the Mordheim set-up. Guaranteed sale if not priced too cuckoo. |
Stepman3 | 10 Oct 2015 5:20 p.m. PST |
I'm getting gitty with excitement…Tilean warband… |
Keifer113 | 10 Oct 2015 6:57 p.m. PST |
I'd have to go through all my bins and work has been a bear. |
Stepman3 | 27 Oct 2015 1:45 p.m. PST |
My warband is complete…and then some. Now to get it to 500gc… What's the advantage of taking "Youngbloods"? |
snurl1 | 03 Nov 2015 10:03 p.m. PST |
They add heroes to your war band cheaply. |
Poniatowski | 10 Aug 2017 3:57 a.m. PST |
Wanted to update this… YAY!!! I finally got the Mordheim coach… still sealed in the original plastic!!! Well.. not any more…. I didn't get it to look at.. I got it to play with!!!! THANK YOU TO HISTORICON 2017 flea market!!! |
Poniatowski | 10 Aug 2017 3:59 a.m. PST |
I also picked up Uli & Marquand a while back… Fall IN! flea market and the Highwayman foot and mounted!!!! These were actually acquired a while back…. I just reread my list and figured I should mention them also! |
Poniatowski | 15 Aug 2017 4:17 a.m. PST |
I am really looking for Chaos cultists and the Carnival of Chaos….. I guess I will first stick to trying to complete my Averlanders and Ostlanders. |
Poniatowski | 24 Oct 2017 10:24 a.m. PST |
Just a bump…… still looking for more Averlanders and Ostlanders….. I am soooo close for both groups!!! |
Poniatowski | 12 Mar 2018 3:59 a.m. PST |
OK, well… great news! I now have all of the Averlander "official" GW figures…. AND… I just picked up on eBay the 3 final Ostlanders I needed! I recently also purchased an original box set of the Carnival of Chaos in one bid and in another the little demons….. all I need now is the plague cart!!!… nice dream there… everyone who has it.. wants like 3-400 beans for it!!! But still… great news on the Mordheim front! Fingers crossed…. when they come in… I'll have the carnival, the Nurglings and the rest of my Ostlanders!!!! I still need the Chaos warband! The box sets or used ones on EBay keep going for more than I am willing to pay. I do still need the beast in the woods…. but that will be another big dollar purchase for later! |
Mithmee | 12 Mar 2018 12:15 p.m. PST |
Ok, is it me or have the rest of you saw the insane prices folks are selling the Mordheim stuff for on eBay. What happens when GW stops supporting their games. "sling spam", what's that? Snurl1 is correct. The thing about most GW games is that there are no limitations on how war bands are put together and certain individuals (I.E. WACC'ers) very quickly exploit this. So you give all of your band a sling and you just focus fire on your opponent's miniatures. Thus allowing you to take them out without having to go into close combat. Plus they might be able to use them if they are charged. A WAAC'er will always go with things that are not covered in the Rulebook. Famous quote is: Well the Rulebook does not state that I cannot do it. They are very capable of twisting the Rules as Written to their own benefit. |
David Johansen | 14 Mar 2018 3:43 p.m. PST |
Just wait a year and they'll do Age of Sigmar Mordheim. ;) |
David Johansen | 14 Mar 2018 3:47 p.m. PST |
I have Witch Hunters that I use for Flagellants and a Free Company regiment. Sometimes I think about selling some of my GW stuff. I've got metal Knights Panther, Archers, Swordsmen, The Marksmen of Mirraglio, unpainted Leopold's Leopard Company, unpainted Kislivite Kossars, unpainted Mordheim Amazons. Then I think, "nah, I'll get to them eventually." :D |
snurl1 | 30 Mar 2018 5:41 a.m. PST |
Yes. Eventually. I really don't care if GW re-releases Mordheim or not. There seems to be no shortage of folks who like to play the old version. It's a good way to have some old school fun with those GW figures that don't get used too much any more. |
Poniatowski | 09 Apr 2018 7:25 a.m. PST |
The original game is very well done… no need to tweak or revise. Yes, everyone always complains about "creep", but I tell you…. "sling spam" and elves are easily overcome…. as are the rats…. By far, Mordheim is my favorite game. I am still trying to complete my collection… even though I might not ever play certain warbands.. it is great to have them for loan, etc…. |
DougEagle | 23 Apr 2018 6:26 p.m. PST |
Man…I'd love to get my hands on Mordheim again. Still got the rulebook…just need mini's and terrain |
Mithmee | 24 Apr 2018 11:56 a.m. PST |
Mini's are easy just go with either Northstar Miniatures (I.E. Frostgrave etc) or Mantic Games. Northstar:
Decently price. |
DougEagle | 13 May 2018 5:32 p.m. PST |
Hmm. May have to have a look see… |
