I have several of the older Corgi vehicles. Just eyeballing them they look to be a pretty good fit with 20mm. Specifically the M-8 Greyhound, the US halftrack and the M5 Stuart. How close are they to 20mm?

I believe they are (from their listings for sale) 1:50; which is a little large.

I have those same 3 Corgis you reference and have always reckoned there were pretty close to 1/72. They at least compare pretty well with scale models of the same.

Perhaps take out a ruler and check a few dimensions against the real numbers and see?

I have this page bookmarked for just this sort of discussion

Amazing what you can find on the internet, and so close to home, so to speak.

Russell – different models. I suspect Marc has the smaller models from the Fighting Machines range, which are probably in the right ballpark.

Yep, Dom's got it – the Fighting Machines range. Scaled to fit inside the box – means that jeeps were more like 1:50, afvs around 1/72, and planes more like 1:100.

I have a couple of the M8s and also M3s- match up well with my PSC M3s so around 1/72.

Many thanks and yes, Fighting Machines range, sorry for not specifying!

Some are more closer to 1/87, but some, like the greyhound M8 are close enough, I think their Sherman is not that far off scale either.

The M3 halftrack is awesome – indestructible, pre-painted, and cheap. Also love the M8 & Stuart. In addition, I have many of the T-34, PZ IV (long and short barreled), and Shermans as well. These 3 seem to be almost 1/76. A little wash/dry brush, decals, and ready to fight.
Back in '04, this range kick started the now legendary 1/72 world war 2 gaming explosion here in Cleveland by allowing a few friends and I to instantly have a pretty good base of vehicles to form armies with – armies that still exist and do battle almost every week. They had dozens of each of these at the Marc's stores here, for only $1.96 USD!!! I remember going to each of them, and walking out with bags of these. Oh, the Glory!!
This sudden glut of cheap vehicles led directly to the formation of the Furious Gamers Association, which is the elite, premier tabletop leisure group in NE Ohio.
