Need to add, but as it isn't frequented. it would reduce the already overloaded work of the many. It's not used so redundancy? |

I'm pretty sure the writer of POW stated online a couple of years ago that he wouldn't be continuing it, or reissuing/updating it. Pity, I liked POW. I've seen a few recent AARs etc online, so I guess it's still played though. |
duncanh | 14 Jan 2015 2:40 p.m. PST |
I'd be sad to see it closed, I'll e mail the author with my reasoning. |

Forum rules say if a board does no have the prescribed number of posts per day/week it will be done away with. So lay on, Editors! |

I am torn here. Usually I think the more broads, errr boards, the merrier. However, I never heard of the darn game, so….. Do with it what you will. Maybe Bill will replace it with Flames of Liberty. |

There is still the POW Yahoo Group. I guess some people post stuff in both locations. I continue to use the rulesets and would welcome an update. I survived before this Board was on TMP, I think I can survive without it. Certainly better with it around. |

I really don't understand why anyone would bother raising this subject. If you don't play the game, why would you care if there is a board or not? |
Winston Smith | 14 Jan 2015 4:59 p.m. PST |
Because some people like everything tidy. You should see their sock drawer. |
Phillius | 14 Jan 2015 5:09 p.m. PST |
There is always more than one "Captain Tidy" out there. Good game though, and I am sure people will continue to play it, so the board would be useful for reference for them. |

Don't see why. I intend to play POW this year….. John |

I play POW. Have all the rules. They are great rules for 2MM. |

"Not sure what "workload" there is with allowing it to just sit there…or am I missing something?" It is reasoning like that which has led my organisation to have not just an archive of the previous HR system, but the one before that too (dating from the late 1980s), It causes huge complications with system migrations, management of security rights, reporting…. Not quite the same scale as this situation of course, but if an organisation has a data retention/deletion policy, they should stick to it or change the policy. |

Well, consider me told off. Keep it open and back to the naughty step for me. |

I have the REN WARS, never understood the wording, liked the way the troops were organized, armies fit perfectly on the Armati mat my mother made me, but could never comprehend what I was doing. Maybe I'm a ignorant nit. |

I found it useful when I wanted to find out something about POW. TMP is my usual recourse to find out about rule sets I'm not familiar with, so keeping the archive is useful. Thanks. |
Mikey Rebel | 16 Feb 2015 8:09 a.m. PST |
the game is still played at clubs i know…and this board is useful.. |
Old Contemptibles | 08 May 2015 10:12 p.m. PST |
Has a board ever been deleted? Once a board goes up it stays up. There are quite a few boards that should be discarded due to lack of interest. This happens all the time and yet they keep coming. You try to explain that there isn't enough interest. But they wont listen. |

One rule to guide them and one rule to bind them… Careful if you enforce the rule for one the hounds will be baying for the blood of the others. I am sure TMP 4.0 will handle all transitions well… dos centavos – if it ain't broke don't fix it. And if it is broke don't break it more… |

Is there a version of PoW Rules for the Marlborough Period….. and if so, how do I get a copy ? Ta. |
Sgt Steiner | 22 Mar 2018 4:49 p.m. PST |
Hi parrskool The 18th Century set includes Malburian lists and rules no idea of sellers but do appear on EBay (UK) from time to time |
Maxshadow | 10 Apr 2018 3:42 a.m. PST |
Are these the rules where you need to have the right card to reload or charge? |
Banana Man | 15 Apr 2018 2:17 p.m. PST |
I just purchased a copy of 18th Century PoW and they are a bit crap really. Oh well. |
Last Hussar | 19 May 2018 1:00 p.m. PST |
I think there shouldn't be rule specific boards. Have a board in each period call 'Rules'. You use the abbreviation in the title. It is understood that you don't comment on boards if you don't play them or want to. No x is rubbish, that's why we play y |
Condottiere | 14 Aug 2018 5:49 p.m. PST |
I would assume that a vote of 50+ TMP-ers to shut the board down would be sufficient. It appears that there is little, if no interest in Principles of War in recent years (decades). |
Terry Naylor | 13 Mar 2020 1:55 a.m. PST |
Many of the boards should be scrapped as they have become irrelevant. With less traffic over recent years too many boards splinter conversation. |
79thPA | 29 Jan 2021 7:52 a.m. PST |
the suggestion to remove dormant boards never seems to get any traction with Bill. |
