I have a desire to add plumes to some 1805 Russian infantry made by HaT in 1/72 scale – their models are supplied with the big bushy grenadier plume, but I want to make some musketeers like:

3rd pic down.

Any thoughts or suggestions on a cost/time effective way to make these – they are a sort of stick and tuft affair which looks quite "interesting" to try and model in 1/72 en masse.

Thanks

I've cut away the thick plume and added cut-down tooth-picks (inserted into a punched hole in the shako with some superglue). The "mushroom"-effect of the tufts was done by painting a narrow dark line around the cone.
There are some pictures available, but I am unable to show them here.
If you want I could send them to you as an attachment of an email.
