After a year from hell (as I now term it!) I'm getting back into the hobby! That in itself is somewhat of a miracle after the time I had last year….. but enough of that…..

I've finally started on my Sudan project that was sitting in a box for quite some time now. I've started out gently by sticking some of the lovely Perry Plastic Mahdist Ansar mini's. It's a bit of a new beginning for me so be gentle. Here are the fruits of my labour thus far.

Many more pics on my Shooting Leave (Victorian Warfare Blog) here:

Here's a couple of images to hopefully attract you!

Cheers,
Darrell.

Congratulations on the start of your Sudan project. I've been gaming that era for the better part of 35 years and it never gets old. Lot's of wonderful, inspiring reading material out there as well as a couple of terrific movies. Not to mention some great stuff right here on TMP. If you haven't done so, check out Last Stand Dan's web site. He and some friends just finished a year long campaign set in the Sudan and they posted some fantastically entertaining after action reports.

Thanks for the kind words. It's only the start thus far. Just looking at the Perry range, which I have been doing so for some years now get's the mouth salivating at all the possibilities with all the colourful troop types on both sides. not to mention the conversion possibilities especially now with the plastics.

Last Stand Dan's it is then! Thanks for the heads up :>)

Darrell.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with one of my favourite periods.

@Atheling,

You probably found it on your own, but just in case, here's a link to Dan's blog:

Yep, I managed to find it. It's actually on my Blog reading list!

BTW, I'm going to be painting up General Roberts soon and another Mounted Afghan Officer- both conversions, one for someone else and one that I've done. So, watch this space ;>)
