I recently found this site: vernianera.com/home.html Billed as a site for "Vernian Era technology", its real focus is rather more narrow. Authors Michael and Karen Chrisafulli present a thorough discussion (with pictures) of Jules Verne's original Nautilus. There are also sections on the Winans "cigar ships" built during the 1850s and '60s, and the Civil War submarine H.L. Hunley. For me, the fun part is the "catalog"; a collection of drawings of as many different depictions of Nautilus as the authors could find. Ron |
