Sam Mustafa's Blucher rules are due to arrive next month. In anticipation, I have painted and based some 10mm Russians and French, with an eye towards playing a test game as soon as the rules arrive.

It is a test of willpower to avoid doing that Mel Brooks bit every time I hear that particular Marshal's name… :)

Very brave to make up the units BEFORE seeing the rules…..
But based upon his podcasts and his other offers, it will be well done nonetheless I am thinking.

Your bases look good
cheers

Those look very nice.

Mel Brooks aside, I just finished reading "Imperial Sunset" about the 1813-1814 campaigns. Without old Marshal Blucher's contributions I think the Confederation of the Rhine would still exist. Everyone else was afraid of Napoleon.

Hmm … I'm assuming that one could play the game with small unit ID labels and a roster with all the pertinent info on it?

MadDrMark09 Jan 2015 10:47 a.m. PST

Auld MT, I was not so bold as you suggest. The labels are mere prototypes affixed with a single swipe of glue stick. I was planning to print up new ones before each game, with the names of divisional commanders or specific unit names on each. I'm pretty happy with the format and graphical content, though. Sam has been quite generous with dropping sneak peeks on his website that have helped to guide my work.

CA TenWolde, one of the reasons I have affixed the labels so lightly is because I have not fully committed to them. I might later decide to remove the labels altogether and work from a roster, as you suggest (which has been discussed on the Honour forums). That way, it will be possible to cram more minis on each base… :)

Looking Good!

I assume all those folks who made little 6mm diorama type bases for Grande Armee could reuse them for this too?

MadDrMark09 Jan 2015 11:33 a.m. PST

I think that basing is meant to be as flexible as possible, and distances for movement and fire are measured in Base Widths. Units from other "big base" games should have no problem being used as they are.

Looking good! I've gotta get some new pics of my own bases up on here.

I have the same issue on affixing labels. Now I ordered flex steel and light duty magnets so I will be able to swap them out.
