I have a midweek day in London coming up and would like to know where the best miniature shops are. I'll be especially grateful if anyone can help with H&R.

TIA

Orc's Nest is excellent!

I believe H&R can be found at Navwar, at Seven Kings, a short trip by rail from Liverpool Street station.

Oops, sorry, should have checked first. The Web site now says the shop is only open on Saturdays:

navwar.freeserve.co.uk

You might ring them up just to be sure.

I don't know who else would carry H&R now.

JT, hate to disagree. Orc's nest is not as described above, but being the only show in town somehow gets away with it. Their web site however, isn't half bad.

Afraid I must also agree with Major Blunder. Orc's Nest is ok but nothing spectacular. Also I find it irritating that all their wargames rules and magazines are plastic wrapped so you can't flick through them to see if they are of interest.

But Orc's Nest it is not quite the only show in town. You could also try Playin' Games at 33 Museum Street, WC1. Nearest tube stop is Tottenham Court Road. Mainly board games such as chess etc upstairs but a few wargames bits and pieces downstairs. The British Museum is also close by in case you fancy taking a look.
