A take on Trenton 1776: the table.

pijlieblog.blogspot.nl/2015/01/trenton-1776-winter-table.html

We are still writing the scenario, which should include several unexpected issues for the Hessian as well as the American player.

Nicely done! It looks like "uptown" here in Maine and gave me a chill! Looks like a mix of plastic and metal figs? Great work.

Very nice set-up – can't wait for the actual game.

I did something similar years ago. The first thing I had to reconsider was the rules used.
A rules that had 12 figure regiments would be absurd when the whole unit could hide behind the church. grin
So I came up with my own, where each Hessian regiment was split into 4 companies of at least 15 individually based figures.
Trenton had always been a " bucket list" game for me, and the catalyst was buying a ton of Foundry SYW Prussian grenadiers on clearance from Brookhurst. Being without lapels they were the only available figures for Rall. Now Perry figures are available as well.
Coincidentally someone was selling off Front Rank at a flea market for a buck apiece, so they became alt von Lossberg.

Another coincidence was the simultaneous release of the Eureka Ragged Continentals and Glover's Marbleheaders. Along with Dixon Valley Forge figures I was set.

I wish I had as good a setup as you guys.

That looks great.

We built it in quite a simple and cheap way actually. Just check the blog. It is really very possible to emulate.

We will probably use 6 figure stands as companies, 4 Cie in a regiment and use the Black Powder ruls to scale up the units from small (1-2 stands) to standard (3-4 stands). We'll use random cards as scenario ingredients (like American Arty could not cross after all or Von Donop drops by with a regiment etc).

Your table looks really great. It's a joy to behold.

Also, give your cat a little petting for me!

What a great looking game. Does the car count as cover?

Citizen Kenau04 Jan 2015 11:47 a.m. PST

Neither the cat nor the car counts as cover. Both are movable (or moving) terrain.

Interesting. Took my kids to see the Old Barracks in Trenton. One of three buildings I know still standing from the battle.

That site for buildings on your blog is great.

Nice. The smoke/condensation from the chimneys is a great touch.
