The recent attack on the village near Bununu had brought about a flood of complaints about Yu Jing forces in the area. The territorial governor Zeng Guofan was disturbed by the reports and decided to make a personal inspection. It wasn't so much that he cared about the locals, or even the colonists, it was that he knew that disaffected locals could be used by CA forces. They were having enough trouble as it was.

The town of Bununu itself was an odd mix. The area had a business district that was almost completely deserted. Many of the houses were more than 100 yeas old, being updated with modern technology as best as they could.
The scars of fighting with the alien forces were apparent. The Chinese government spent a good deal of money cleaning up these conflict zones but a town like Bununu was a little out of the way for the usual PR campaign.
He was making his last tour and talking with some of the locals when one of his Zhanshi guards noticed something odd. The two guards started to move him towards the air car more quickly now.

He was told there would be no more talking. Guofan was not a soldier. He was wise and knew to listen to those that had more experience in a given area than him.
His soldiers liked him for this. When he listened when they told him what to do in these situation it meant that they would listen when he told them what to do in others.
The men moved him towards a building as there was some sort of disturbance to their right.
The Zhanshi covered the area with their combi rifle as Guofan opened the door of the building and walked in.
He could not have been more surprised by what he saw.
Even with their camo fields on he could see the room was crowded with soldiers. One didn't have any camo on. It was a Kepetai. Her combi rifle was pointed right at him.
"Why you Jap bi . . ." was all he managed to say before two shots from the secessionist's rifle cut through him.

The two Zhanshi burst into the room and were quickly cut down by fire from the two Intruders, the Zero and the Spektr.
"Quickly, disguise yourself, they will have heard that," said one of the intruders.
The Kempetai bent over the body of Guofan and then stood up her uniform quickly becoming the diplomatic garb of the diplomat.
She and the Intruder moved through the building towards the landing pad.
"Cover us, they are coming, they must not get past you, don't be discovered," were the Intruders only orders as the two quickly moved through the structure.
The gunfire certainly had not gone unnoticed.

The Chinese forces at the launch pad started moving towards it while their sniper scanned the town. Through the patchwork of falling down buildings she could see movement towards where the Governor should be moving.
Through her scope she saw the aliens. She took aim and with four shots, two of the aliens were down.

The three South Americans in the building heard movement right outside and the Intruder with the sniper rifle moved up to see what was going on. Out on the street he saw two of the Combined Army operatives moving towards where the Lt. and the Kempetai had gone. He took two shots at one of them, one of the bullets careening off of its armour, but it dove inside the building across the street.

A sharp fire fight ensued. The alien moved through the building giving up on this target when he heard the Chinese forces moving up on his right. He did not want them to get to the Governor before the Combined Army could kill him.

The alien swept through the building and around another, bounding more than running, and soon enfiladed the main thrust of the Chinese relief forces.

Meanwhile the Kempetai and the Intruder Lieutenant made their way towards the air pad.
The Gwailos wasn't sure who was in the building but he thought he had better take them out before he got shot in the back.
He moved up the side of the building and engaged, taking out the intruder before a stale mate between him and the other two South American troopers allowed the Spektr and the Zero to rescue their fallen comrade and get to the other side of the building.

The explosion was never audible to the Exrah as he continued to menace the flank of the Chinese force. The bullet entered his brain prior to the sound ever reaching him. His armoured insectoid body slammed into the wall and slowly slid down it. Once it got to the floor it never moved again. The Guilang sniper claimed a third terrorist attacker.

The Kempetai moved around the corner. She could see that the Yu Jing forces were there. With enough of them they might detect her.
"Over here, go in front of me, take a couple of them out," she said to the Intruder behind her. He moved past her and up the side of the last building between them and the launch pad.
Plasma fire could be heard on the next street over, the Intruder was thankful for the camo cells that helped keep him concealed.
One of the men didn't die from the plasma fire and they could hear him screaming now. He looked back at the Kempetai, but of course she didn't know that.
Looking forward again he could see one of the Yu Jing bikers poking his head out around the corner scanning for trouble.
He pointed trouble right at him. The man was clearly surprised by the shots coming his way, he jumped off of his motorcycle and returned fire. A shot from the Intruder glanced off the rim of the wheel and hit the biker in the groin and he went down.
The other biker was already moving up to help but could see nothing when he got there and received an order to fall back.

Suddenly there is a couple of quick bursts behind him and the Intruder turns and moves towards the noise. He rounds the corner and sees a Gwailos, smoke just barely visible still from the gun barrel. The Kempetai is down.
"Game is over, boys" he says into his com unit, "the pizza is in no shape to be delivered. It looks like one of the aliens is coming past your location now, let him go and bug out. Do you have Fernando?"
"Si, boss. Gustavo has Fernando, we are camoed up and ready to leave. Shame about Keiko."
"Yes, it would have been nice to have an agent on their inside, but I never really trusted her anyway."
There was more plasma fire from near the airfield and the cracking of gunfire, but it was no concern of this insertion team, they were heading back to their own territory.
