I was getting tired of using Heraclea as a battle to replay over and over with different rules. I settled on Bibracte as I wanted something with warbands. That was November 2013 (yep, 2013). I worked out the scenario (the initial clash on the hill) and setup the figures on the table. And they sat there for 12 months. Bibracte just did not fire my imagination to play over and over with different rules. I have now (just) switched to Sentinum. The table is setup for Bibracte, it would be a shame not the play Bibracte through. So I played it with my own rules. I found an unintended error that had crept into my rules so fixed it and played it again. Yes, I wish they would win more. They did historically win a lot of battles. Attacking uphill at Bibracte does not help. |
