With the new year almost upon us, what sorts of gaming do you anticipate doing in 2015? I know what I am most excited to begin:

1. Medieval Imagi-Nations – skirmish gaming, 28mm, likely using Lion Rampant

2. Age of Sail – I want to try my hand at building some ships, and hope to have a few ready by the time Galleys and Galleons is released.

3. Spaceship Gaming – whether Full Thrust or Silent Death (or something else), some form of spaceship combat.

There are other ideas clamoring for attention, too: Post-Apocalyptic, Western gunfights, Pulp adventure, and maybe a bit of old-school Fantasy RPG. But for now, I have chosen the top three I want to concentrate on. Thanks for reading, please share your own "wish list" for 2015.

More of the same. I anticipate no new projects.
I might get some new "armies" for Flames of War but that would be nothing I need to do.

I may put in a little more work on Flames of Liberty but I am basically lazy.

I don't have anything planned, but I'll definitely try to fit a few war games into my schedule.

Two endeavours. The first is to put on Hydaspes at Carronade in Falkirk in May and, hopefully, at Claymore in Edinburgh in August. 28mm, of course.

The second is to keep going with our classical ancients campaign. Soon we will see Jugurtha, the Germans, the 'Marian Reforms', the Social War, Mithridates, and the civil war between Marius and Sulla. I'd be surprised if we were to get through that lot in a year. 28mm, of course!

Catch up on some of my lead mountain (it will take more than a year to catch up on all of it!).

Mostly board gaming for me. Lots of ASL. Day of Days in the summer when it is released (hopefully). A bunch of GMT games…

Minis wise I am buying up a bunch of GHQ minis for playing out the Desert scenarios in the Operation Crusader scenario book for Fireball Forward. I am also looking forward to IABNM and the counter-insurgency rules coming up from TFL.

Painting more 40mm armies. I am working on my 2nd army for Charge! using Prince August homecast figures. I bought a bunch of Shiny Toy Soldiers from Spencer Smith miniatures. They require some assembly, but are going well also. My gaming is going to be more old school from now on.
I retire at the end of January, and will move back to the Denver area. I have a lot of gaming friends there, many of whom are also retired. Really looking forward to it.

15mm post apoc fantasy gaming

1. Finish off my siege rules for "Oh God! Anything But a Six:" where the siege is the game. That is, the game consists of the defender making his fortress up. Then the other guy attacking it, with all the strategies and features of a siege, only put into a table top battle that takes about four hours to do, in 30mm. Almost there. This is all hex based where you replace a hex of clear terrain with battery-parallel-sap hexes of ruined masonry with a hex that shows it ruined etc.

2. Reworkd Yo-Ho-Ho which is my rules for naval games in the 18th century making it faster and less complex. It works well now, tested it at "The Weekend" Convention in June and I just want to put the finishing touches on it.

3. Complete the "Command Stand" or the "Headquarters for the Army of Princess Trixie of Saxe Burlap und Schleswig Beerstein, which has her scratchbuilt from basswood and styrene with a team of six, her on horseback, generals, lackeys etc.

4. Get moving the Pontoon Train for the above army, all scratch built, with elaborate pontoons with cabins and rudders etc.

5. Hoping to get the IWG Interest Group going.

6. Getting my Amazon Army finished.

7. Working on the Nutcracker Ballet Game, as part of my 19th Century Operatic Game.

5.A

The Beast Rampant29 Dec 2014 8:28 a.m. PST

1. A 28mm 15thC Lion Rampant force that can also go on to used in DBA and other such small-head count mass battle systems.

2. Restart spaceship gaming

3. Further my 16thC New World projects, in 15mm (Irregular Wars) and 28mm (IW & others)

4. 16thC naval in one of three (!) scales. Sigh.

5. Finish off a bunch of Flintloque sections, and no doubt start some more.

6. Finally go back and repaint a few Rogue Trader units so my ghost doesn't have to.

7. Do something with Warfare in the Age of Madness and/or Alien Squad Leader. Maybe.

All that should keep me busy for some time. Get back to me in 2018 and we'll reevaluate.

Looking forward to an expanded range of Cthulhu minis for the new skirmish game---maybe there will be a kickstarter like there was for the Mutant Chronicles---or should I just say "2015 grow my pile of unpainted figs"

Huscarle29 Dec 2014 11:24 a.m. PST

1/ Paint my Saxon forces for Dux Britannia. The Romano-Brits are finished. Then get a game in or 2.
2/ Referee the 2nd & 3rd games of our IABSM campaign.
3/ Finish off my DnD campaign set in mid 15th Century fantasy Europe (should only be one more session).
4/ Restart my Hyksos DnD campaign – I've got a ton of Dark Fable minis to come from the latest crowdfunder, and loads to paint.
5/ Gather all of my other crowdfunding pledges together, Cthulhu Wars, WarGods of Olympus, Reaper Bones, Dark Sword etc.
6/ Paint up a few more of my lead pile of about 10k figures, and dare I say it, perhaps prune the leadpile a tad.
7/ Get some gaming in, any gaming as it has been far too sparse this last year.

1. Finish basing about 2,000 painted 15mm Napoleonics. Then start playing some games.

2. Complete the rest of my Dark Africa armies and get that campaign going.

3. If I'm lucky I will have time to start my 20mm Stalingrad project.

4. I will probably squeeze another Hoc Habet Hoc Gladiator campaign in there somewhere.

5. Continue to GM my 35 year old D&D campaign as time permits.
