A visit from DOM for winter break from uni. SOM (in grad school) isn't visiting because he has a job (yay!). 3.125% interest on my new house. SWMBO hasn't wised up and left me after two decades and change. All in all, a damn good haul!

The four of us are Skyping a game of Troll Ball later (gaming stuff).

zippyfusenet24 Dec 2014 3:54 p.m. PST

I practice a one-for-them, one-for-me philosophy of gifting, so I'm never disappointed.

So far, a couple of Don Troiani Civil War picture books and copies of The Forgotten Centuries and the Thousand and One Nights.

cherrypicker24 Dec 2014 4:14 p.m. PST

Yep I should have said all bar the tanks. was a Christmas gift from me to me (always the first gift I buy)

not much gaming related seemingly… A few presents from my partner, (including a bottle of beer…)

I am still holding out for a laptop in the big box downstairs… (but maybe not!) – And of course I got lots of clothing and smellies on my ten year of being with my partner anniversary (she wont marry me until I stop playing silly games… so I am not married yet..) and that was just a month ago.

I will report more in morning.

Ragbones24 Dec 2014 7:10 p.m. PST

No toys yet, but I got my daughter! We had a scare this weekend that led to brain surgery to remove a tumor. The results have been very positive, and I could not ask or desire any other gifts this holiday!

Merry Christmas to all!

DBA 3 & HotT 2.1 plus a pile of WW1 books and more naval books. Decided the lead queue was too long to get anything more to paint until I've cleared some of the backlog.

Just about to get the goose in the oven.

Nothing gaming related thus far that I did not buy myself. On that front, got some 15mm figs and vehicles from GZG and some 20mm from Ehliem. Perhaps I will grab some more post Xmas.

BTC, I am happy that things are looking so good after a scary beginning.

I got some books. Hog's Exit, about Jerry Daniels, a legendary CIA case officer among the Hmong in Laos; also Uniforms and Equipment of the US Military Advisors in Vietnam, one of those large Schiffer photo books.

Tom

steamingdave4725 Dec 2014 10:43 a.m. PST

Pendraken League of Augsburg cavalry and AB 20 mm Ww2 US figures, plus John Buckley's book " Monty's Men", first time I have ever had war-gaming related presents. Also got several music albums, an espresso maker, coffee bean grinder and some chocs plus TMP supporting membership, so I am well pleased.

Martin Rapier25 Dec 2014 10:48 a.m. PST

No toys but I did get a scenario book and some hilariously pointless items of militaria. I've already got an Xmas painting project so I'll be getting on with that (yet more late nineteenth century european wars stuff).

Bad Painter25 Dec 2014 10:51 a.m. PST

Leidang, sorry to hear you're spending Christmas in the hospital. I hope the infection resolves quickly so you can go home.

Ragbones25 Dec 2014 12:27 p.m. PST

The family spoiled me this year. In addition to an iPad I received a Barzso 54mm 'Guns of the Alamo' set to go with my TSSD/Conte Alamo, four 54mm scale Alamo buildings from Hobby Bunker to expand my CTS Alamo, and five bags of CTS Mexican and Texan 54mm figures. I also got the large 15mm Middle Eastern city wall, gate and tower set with three market sets and some bonus walls for my Khartoum project.

14th NJ Vol25 Dec 2014 2:57 p.m. PST

BTCTerrainman, When I started this thread I was thinking about all the toys we get for our hobby. You however have had the very best type of Christmas. Thoughts & prayers for a speedy recovery for your daughter. Merry Christmas.

14th NJ Vol25 Dec 2014 3:01 p.m. PST

I did get somethng for the hobby: the new 2nd volume scenario book for RF&F, plus a book, The Battle of White Sulphur Springs.

WWII Parade Uniforms of the Soviet Union vol I & II, and a copy of One-Hour Wargames.

Pictors Studio26 Dec 2014 8:46 a.m. PST

I got a bunch of stuff but more stuff hasn't come in yet.

Dropzone Commander resistance: Hellhog, Barrel Bomber and drill.

Crimean War: 120 Russian cavalry, 12 British cavalry, 6 British artillery pieces with crews, 60 Turkish Infantry, all unpainted and 30 Russian infantry and 12 British cavalry painted and based.

Then I should be getting some terrain for Dropzone Commander, some Infinity figures and some terrain for Infinity in the mail along with a bunch of Crimean War French infantry.

I'm really glad to hear that things turned out okay with your daughter Doug.
