Against. They slow down access and make scrolling irritating, unless you have superfast broadband (lucky you). And they also dilute the value of existing adverts – I like on-topic adverts, both here and in magazines, they are part of the attraction. But off-topic ones just get in the way. Obviously if Bill needs to take them to make the site viable that's his choice, but we were asked do we like them or not and in my case, very not. |

Looks like there's enough interest in the subject to warrant a poll, pity that it seems to be at the end of a long line of other suggestions, so the poll is likely to take place in January…2017 |

Given latest developments, maybe a good time to bring this to the top of the pile again and actually have that poll, as Bill has sort-of suggested that's how things get decided in this community. How about it, editorial team? |
