Hello,
Can anyone recommend some dealers in the states where I could purchase terrain and vehicles for the French Indo-China War?
Thank you

Age of Glory at ageofglory.com carries the 28mm Red Star Indo China range.

I am not certain if you are just asking for sources of figures, or asking for both sources and information on what to purchase, so please forgive me if any of what is below is information you already have.

For the French the closest approximation that I know of would be US airborne, although the camo is different the weapons are generally the same.

You can see a good example here of the French troops surrending after Bien Dien Phu:

Most pictures are in B&W but here is a good color illustration of the camo:

For vehicles almost any US type is appropriate as so much was given as aid by the US in the 1950s.
Here you can see some M5 halftracks and an M5 close support tank used by the French:

and here is an M24 Chaffee with French crew:

I have also seen the French Panhard armored car as seen here:

A good deal of the motor transport I have seen pictured during the French phase of the conflict was pre-war (pre-WWII) and it is fairly diverse so any trucks or automobiles from nearly any WWII range are appropriate. Don't forget that many Soviet trucks from WWII were licensed copies of US vehicles so those will be appropriate as well.

Black Tree Design has most of what I described above, and is in the US. Their WWII range, which includes all those things is available here:

Warlord Games is in the UK but they ship to the US cheaply. They have French & US vehicles and US troops would be appropriate for the French:

This figure is not 100% appropriate but he has so much character he must be singled him out for particular mention. He would work quite well as a career officer wearing older kit:

For the Viet Minh Eureka has some Viet Cong that would work well, although AK-47s would not be appropriate for the 1950s. They are the only minis I know of in the US.

The Assault Group have severl VC figures that would be appropriate but they are in the UK. You can find them here:

Westwind also has a Vietnam range that has VC, but again they are in the UK. I may be incorrect on this point, but I believe they are also true 25mm so that may be an issue with figure compatibility. On the other hand given the average statue of a Vietnamese soldier in the 1950s, you can certainly argue using 25mm Viet Minh and 28mm French is entirely appropriate.

Also Red Star has both actual French forces and Viet Minh, although they are in Europe. Still you can find their seemingly excellent range here:

For scenery I will post more later when time allows. In the meantime I would suggest Miniature Building Authority if you prefer pre-painted. They are in the USA, and provide EXCELLENT service.

Many of the above listed ranges have appropriate unpainted sceneary.

I'm working on Indo-China in 28mm. So far, I have some of the Red Star figures mentioned above:

Read my blog for a full review, but in short:they are marvelous!
The French figures also have separate heads with helmets, bush hats of Bigeard caps. I intend to do some head swapping on other figures when I find the time.
