Just started working on 1:100 scale Leclerc tank. Here is a progress picture of first 15 minutes of work.

Gonna add as much details as it possible on this model like on my previous 15mm model vehicle S-Tank.

I need to add driver hatch and some very minor hull details, then I need to finish side armour skirts and tracks and after that I can start modelling the turret.

I'd better get in touch :-)

SirFjodin22 Dec 2014 5:44 a.m. PST

Sure :) planning to finish the hull tomorrow and start the turret. I'd leave the tracks till the end

Slowly but steady I am working on turret. Before adding more details I need to better define the shape side armour :)

Great stuff!

SirFjodin24 Dec 2014 5:32 a.m. PST

Thanx, mate :)

Hope to finish it after x-mas. Gonna try to make it as close to real life vehicle as it possible in 15mm. Leclerc is a tricky and very detailed MBT, so I am using lots of photos to make sure I havent missed any detail.

Gonna define the turret shape a bit more and then I will cover it with details :) after that I will finish the tracks and some hull details.

Once complete where would we buy one?

Some turret work. Just finished shaping stowage boxes and area around the gun and added some details to rear area of a turret. So now I can work on hatches and other turret details.

Great work!
Wasn't the 'S'tank to be sold thru QRF???
Have you looked into selling your models thru Shapeways?

GeoffQRF31 Dec 2014 5:40 p.m. PST

It is. We have it. A few teething problems/learning curves but it is ready

SirFjodin31 Dec 2014 10:12 p.m. PST

So am I right, the S-Tank will be available soon in QRF store?

SouthernPhantom01 Jan 2015 9:00 p.m. PST

Just wondering, which 3D modelling program are you using? I'm looking to CAD some of my own designs to sell on Shapeways, but have not yet found a satisfactory program.

GeoffQRF01 Jan 2015 9:25 p.m. PST

Yes, soon

SirFjodin02 Jan 2015 4:52 a.m. PST

I use 3ds Max and Maya
