I used my collection of Castle / Fantasy Legos to play SoBH with my 12-yr-old. It went really well, and we'll definitely be playing again. More talk about using Legos and photos on my blog: link -Andrew |

Nice work, and with classic forestmen no less! We did a similar thing a few years back and also enjoyed it. link I think SBH is very well suited to LEGO. Certainly more than the just-ok LEGO-centric wargame brikwars which is too complicated for it's own good. |

Nicely done. Very clever making movement sticks from LEGOs as well. |

Brillent! I have several Lego bands of warriors myself inc Star Trek, Lost World, Cowboys and Indians, Super Heroes – you name it; it can be done in Lego. As a disabled wargamer unable to paint anymore and limited mobility, small games using all the different SOB rules is fantastic. Plus the Solo abilities as well make these ideal rule sets. But you are right Lego can be expensive but bl##dy good fun in my opinion. HoHoHo Merry Xmas one and all |

LEGO is expensive, but compare the cost of a LEGO figure to the cost of a mini, paints, brushes and base, etc. and it's not that much more. Plus, once you build up a stock you can build new figures rather than buy more. If you can find random Lot's on craiglist or thrift stores the deals get even better. |

"Lego" is its own singular and plural, like "moose" |

Wow! .. That is so cool. I have a bunch of little nieces, nephews and kids from other family members that have tons of Lego. I bet if I offer to take some off their hands the parents would love it. One of the biggest pet peeves by Moms regarding picking up their toys is that you can never pick up all the Lego. They are everywhere. Under sofas, in between seat cushions and recliners. They seem to always find their way under your barefooted feet. Especially at 2:00am in the morning on your way to the bathroom with lights off. 8) |

Sir Walter, Thanks for the heads up, I wasn't familiar with Brickwarriors. Looks like they've got a bunch of stuff on deep sale right now… For those looking to use aftermarket pieces for their LEGO warriors, a couple of other good sites are Brickarms brickarms.com Mostly 20th century, but older stuff also. Brick forge brickforge.com Lots of fantasy and medieval as well as modern accessories |

"Lego" is its own singular and plural, like "moose" This is a common misconception. The plural of "moose" is actually "meese." Doug |

I thought it was mooseys. :-b |

Yes, I've read that "Legos" is improper, and "Lego bricks" is the preferred plural, but c'mon. Thanks for the brickwarriors suggestion. They have a lot of fun fantasy accessories. Lego sets are expensive, but I'd say they're no more expensive than all the lead minis, paint, and terrain supplies needed for ordinary wargaming. And if you're lucky, your kid might already have a bunch of bricks ready to use. |
