Hi all. Anyone know who makes 28mm AWI French? I'd like to paint a unit of them up for an upcoming game.

Front Rank is another manufacturer. However, they do not go very well with Perry/Foundry figures and the selection is limited.

My collection includes Perry, Old Glory and Front Rank for the infantry. They do not mix well together, so all are in separate units.
My Lauzun's Legion Hussars are Foundry SYW Hussars, without pelisse and Old Glory for the lancers.

The Perry range is by far the best in terms of regular French troops, and the other units that served in America. Old Glory are probably the cheapest – assuming you live in the US.

If you don't mind some minor uniform differences (and the occasional odd-looking bicornes), Eureka's French Revolutionary Wars range can be a good source of "characters" and different poses.

I second the Perry recommendation – lovely figures to paint up. I'm sure you knwo what you're doing on the painting front, but I found undercoating in mid-grey, rather than white or black, saved a lot of time ( link for colour details ) .

Over the years, I've found that undercoating in grey, then hitting it with a black wash works the best for me. If I do black I can't always see all the detail. White is just too much of a pain for me to cover completely

Paint Dillon or Royal Deux-Ponts regiments and that will not be an issue. grin
