A short review of the book. It is a good read and has some great scenario ideas, especially for you modern naval gamers out there.

I read it earlier this year or late last year, and agree. It's more of an operational tale from what I remember, it rarely really drops you into a tank or plane or even a HQ. Like a pseudo-history of the real thing.


Minor spoiler:

The plot hook the author bookends the novel with is kinda anticlimactic – I was expecting some sort of spy tale to develop out of it, instead everyone holds hands and sings songs about how they're glad it never happened.

I read it and wished it had more ground warfare action in it.
