That's really great work.

Disco Joe14 Dec 2014 8:18 p.m. PST

Nice but might I suggest just a little bit of rust on the exhaust pipes.

Lion in the Stars14 Dec 2014 10:56 p.m. PST

You didn't go as muddy as I expected on the inside of the tracks…

Very nice work, as usual, Piers. I still think we need to send the Department of Labor over to your place to "liberate" that platoon of paintslaves you must have in the basement. evil grin

That would be a dammed good job if it was 1/35th! Brill stuff Piers :) Never easy making one colour amour that 3-D.
Still wont convert me from 20mm stuff though lol

Very nice looking but it seems the tracks would have benefitted from something more. As it is they look too much like continuous rubber bands with a little texture rather than linked steel plated. I have the kit but haven't opened it so not sure how much more you could easily do. If nothing else, painting the tracks a dark rust color and then doing metallic highlighting on the high points to represent the areas of the tracks where the rust wouldn't accumulate due to wear with hard/paced surfaces might get a better effect.

Christot,

I will try harder with the Panther… ;)

Leland,

Cheers… Gotta have bent fenders. When I was four my Uncle built the Tamiya 1/35th T-34/43 and bent the fenders so its a homage to him!

Brownbear18 Dec 2014 4:14 p.m. PST

this is just a great model Piers

Piers,

funny parallel, that of your uncle's T-34. I have a BAC Lightning interceptor I need to finish as a tribute to my late mother, who is the one person responsible for addicting me to plastic models, and the very first one I remember building was tiny kit of a BAC Lightning when I was a wee spratling fiend in *kindergarden* home sick with a head cold (and mom wasn't going to let me rot my brain watching television all day).

Wow. That long ago. So, about that Panther, will you be sure to include the appropriate degree of fuel and oil stains due to continual leakage, or will you merely depict it with an engine fire in progress if it's an Auf. A model?evil grin

Wow. Just…Wow. You've got a pretty good eye and steady hands to match! People like you are the ones that make people like me just not even want to try stuff like that. Do you work for a movie studio? You could!

Just seeing this. Figured I'd take a moment to express my seething jealousy of your amazing work :D.
