Today's entry in the Orcs in the Webbe Advent Calendar is a scenario I've written about the Emperor's run in with marauding Cossacks at the start of the retreat from Moscow.

Although written as fantasy for Alternative Armie's "Flintloque" rules, the scenario also works as a historical game using skirmish rules such as my "95th" from Two Hour Wargames.

Hi Bob,

Another great scenario, another great Advent. I think this maybe the best Advent yet.

One could immagine another scenario, the Prussians capture poor old Napoléon and threaten to execute him. The Duke of Wellington, a gentleman through and through finds that revolting and hand picks a rescue team amonst his finest, the Kings German Legion (not the Guards sorry for that), with the benefit of speaking German, whom will he pick, dashing hussars, grim light dragoons or down to earth commandos of the Light infantry?
Will they succed to fool the Prussian guards made up of stalwart Landwehr who captured the French emperor and were granted a glas of Schnapps each every day on the cost of Blücher?

;) Very good.

In a similar vein a polyglot force of Grande Armee stragglers, twelve in all, can stumble on to Kutusov'a HQ, and attempt what we would now call a decapitation strike,

Would this dirty dozen succeed and live to tell about it?
