Ammut the devourer is a fantastic stretch goal model that is part of Dark Fable Miniature's Indiegogo Campaign and it has recently been unlocked! Check out the miniatures on offer there are some excellent perks in this project – but you better hurry, only 4 days left!

Ammut, like most monsters from Egyptian mythology was a composite of different animals. This creature had the hind-quarters of a hippo, the fore-quarters of a lion and the head of a crocodile. Andy Pieper did a great job in sculpting this monster – ferocious and hungry!

Looks like a hippocrocalion. With a heavy metal hair doo.

He certainly is a big boy; great to see a comparison shot. This is one crowd-funder that does deliver when they say they do (I've jumped in on all of them) thumbs up

Is this one that was supposed to eat the "heavy" hearts of the deceased, thereby utterly annihilating them?

Regardless, nice model.

Dark Fable12 Dec 2014 8:07 a.m. PST

Yes, that's exactly the monster – devouring the hearts of those who had not lived a life according the law of Ma'at (something along the lines of a just life). Only 3 days left to the campaign – I'm hoping we unlock the second set of skeletal guards before then! :)

Ammut painted up by the very talented Paul Sanderson. Should be in the dark Fable web shop by the end of March/ beginning of April
