Ok, Bit the bullet and got the new ork codex. Nice coffee table book. Wish it had more fluff, but overall a nice book. Anyway, according to the org chart in the back a HQ and three infantry units are required, but I really could not find an explanation of a Hq unit. Is it a minimum of one "character" figure? Or would a Boyz squad with a Nob count? Thanks, Khanz |

Don't have the new book, but I'll take a stab… Your ork HQ choices are: 1. A Boss / Big Boss 2. A Big Mek 3. SOME characters (other ork characters replace nob leader figures for FA/HV/TR choices.) Thraka is one HQ choice, another is Wazzdakka Gutsmek, but while there is a figure for Thraka, there is no official figure for Gutsmek. The character figures Snikrot is a leader for a Kommando mob, so NOT an HQ choice, and the Zagstruk figure is a leader for Stormboyz (again, NOT an HQ choice.) I am not sure about Kaptin Badrukk, he *may* be a warboss HQ or a leader for the Flash Gits (HV choice) Now within the "Boss" choice you have options of him having a nob unit (like a retinue), so they do not have to go it alone. Likewise, you may be able to take a Battlewagon transport for them. A boyz squad with a nob leader is just a Troop choice. |

Mardaddy is mainly right, though Thraka is no longer a HQ unit but a warlord – the same slot that houses Titans and stuff… The HQ mark is somewhere on the dataslate for the big characters – its the icon. |

Thanks guys, That's how I surmised it, it's just not spelled out for a new player, and google let me down. The descriptions next to the characters have a symbol that correlates to the org chart, but no real discussion like the old Rick Priestly narratives in early editions on how to assemble armies. Have a couple more questions on the Truk thread. Mardaddy Do you have any figures left? Khanz |

Checked the 6th edition rules and it spells out a little detail on choosing a HQ unit. Wish the codex was more detailed. |
