To all,
I will be making some profound changes to the Dockyard this weekend. All I can say is keep an eye on the site.

Thanks,
Dave

No, a very pleasant surprise. I'm not sure why European import VAT's become an issue for you of late (there've been minor changes to it in the last couple of years, but the system's been in place for decades) but whatever the reason, your actions are obviously welcome.

Dom (who will one day find the time and budget for some 1/700 fleet expansion….)

Good to see the prices lowered by 20%.

That is welcome news I suspect, for many, including myself, especially if you pair that with the free shipping option as well.

I was hoping for an announcement of the availability of a 1/300th scale 71.5'/72' BPB MGB though, with the option to add torpedoes to it as well, if desired, to combat those H&R 1/300th scale boats in the Channel.

;-)

Dave,

Am convinced to take the plunge; order sent

Got it! Thanks Joe!

Dom,
The problem seems to be more the "holding fee" charged to simply hold the package until the customer comes to pick it up and pay the tax. The VAT was indeed always there but this seems to have put it over the top.

The fee's not changed in several years either though – there's always been a handing charge, and I can't remember when it last went up. I do recall the last increase being a decidedly nasty jump, from £3.50 GBP to £8.00 GBP, but that was at least 5 years ago now – the handling charge certainly hasn't changed since 2009, possibly longer. Puzzling.

I thought we were finally gonna see the 15 mm RCW Gunboat!

ptdockyard09 Dec 2014 2:21 p.m. PST

It has become a major issue this year.

15mm gunboat still a possibility but first prototype has not gone well.

Well, I was thinking about "floating" targets for my 1/600th WW1/WW2 aircraft. Have to explore this option more in 2015.

Weird. I guess enforcement must be getting "better" (ie. worse….) Good luck anyway – I definitely need to get more of your stuff when funds improve. :-)
