Every month, it is either Frothers or Tango. Frothers. Tango. Frothers. Tango. I submit this to the TMP members: yes or no, a one-year moratorium on any Frothers or Tango discussions in the TMP General Message Boards. Any thread about the two during the time period gets deleted and the OP gets a spanking.

Dynaman878904 Dec 2014 10:06 a.m. PST

Every month the Tango/Frothers discussion is followed by the ban/limit Tango/Frothers thread too.

ITALWARS04 Dec 2014 10:10 a.m. PST

but why…which is the problem?

Winston Smith04 Dec 2014 10:13 a.m. PST

Unenforceable.
How would you go about policing this?

Cyrus the Great04 Dec 2014 10:16 a.m. PST

Every member has the ability to limit these topics within their own means already. Uncheck boxes, stifle/ignore posters, or just don't open topics or posters that tick you off.

John the OFM04 Dec 2014 10:59 a.m. PST

That's too easy.
Heads must roll. Heretics must be punished.

I don't think we should single out individuals that way. If his behavior is too far over the line, the mods will suspend or ban him. Until then, he can and should be able to post as he sees fit.

brunet04 Dec 2014 11:48 a.m. PST

And the same applies to those who don't like the spamming on TMP

Well, that's the point of the poll suggestion, to stop the spamming on the TMP Talk board.

David Manley04 Dec 2014 12:32 p.m. PST

Frothers and Tango – sounds like some bizarre TV cop duo from the mid 1980s……

Winston Smith04 Dec 2014 12:51 p.m. PST

Polyester suits, Afros and bushy mustaches.
Is that you, Armand?

Tango0104 Dec 2014 12:59 p.m. PST

Ha!Ha!
Good one Winston!.

I agree with Rebelyell2006 proposition.

What about three years?

vikingtim04 Dec 2014 2:28 p.m. PST

What a great way to keep things restricted to a clique. Given the reaction yesterday to my polite and general enquiry, this just adds to my disappointment.

RavenscraftCybernetics04 Dec 2014 2:36 p.m. PST

This morning, if it hadnt been for Tango, I wouldnt have read any posts on TMP at all.

Thanks Armand.

I've noticed that it seems like the majority of the haters are from the U.K. (certainly not all of them)
I wonder why?

would they hate him less if his English(tm) were better?

I really don't have a problem with bona fide TMPers expressing opposition to Tango's posting habits: provide they keep it civil.

Personally, I check out some of Tango's posts & leave others unseen according to whether it piques my interest. Which is pretty well much what we all do with any posters.

As for the Frothpotters, I find their antics sometimes a tad annoying but mostly they're an irrelevancy in everything but their own minds.

So, in summary, no to the OP.

Rebelyell200604 Dec 2014 3:16 p.m. PST

Bitter feelings over the Falklands War, maybe? Druzhina is another poster who finds materials online and shares then with TMP, but since he is Australian, perhaps that is why people do not hogpile him.

sneakgun04 Dec 2014 3:18 p.m. PST

If you don't want to hear about them, why are you writing about them?

Muncehead04 Dec 2014 3:45 p.m. PST

I am in the UK and a Tango fan. His posts often point me at news I have missed.

Pretty sure the Falklands has nothing to do with anything Tango, most grown ups have moved on from that conflict.

Hitman04 Dec 2014 4:52 p.m. PST

I agree with many here on TMP…if these two gentlemen did not post some of the posts they do, I would miss a lot of new and neat items of interest to me. The fact that they have the time to stream the internet as they do to keep some of us up to date is admirable and appreciated. Don't hate people for their generous donation of their time that many of us don't have to "surf the net". Be thankful that there are still some people out their that are still kind of heart. If you don't like all of their posts, don't look at them.

Random Die Roll Supporting Member of TMP04 Dec 2014 5:15 p.m. PST

I am a Tango fan.
I believe that Tango has many fans based on comments that I have received (or should I say words in defense of Tango) due to my overall poor writing skills and grammar……comments that I have posted were intended to refute articles that Tango posted….not to deride or denounce Tango

I have visited Frothers….
I am not a Frothers fan….I do not post on Frothers
Frothers is not a site for me

headzombie04 Dec 2014 5:25 p.m. PST

I like em both. They each have their places.

Rebelyell200604 Dec 2014 5:31 p.m. PST

If you don't like all of their posts, don't look at them.

So many members here have said that (including me), but still people start threads every month in the TMP Talk sub-board complaining about Tango or spreading the latest Frothers attack/rumor. Telling the complainers to "shut up" is against the rules, so perhaps we need a temporary change to the rule. Hence this poll suggestion.

ITALWARS04 Dec 2014 5:50 p.m. PST

i appreciate almost all Tango posts…some of them would have been unreachable by the majority of us if it was'nt for Tango web hunting craftmanship and an high cultural level approach from him not easy to find elsewhere on game/modelling forums….Frothers?…this supposed to be and so called forum make me imagine just some poor serfs making gossips while cleaning toilets….BUT i cannot see a reason to limitate their freedom of expression….

ITALWARS04 Dec 2014 5:54 p.m. PST

sorry..obviously that Forum (Frothers)..not this :-))

Spam is junk mail. I put it in the trash. So should you.

Rrobbyrobot04 Dec 2014 11:28 p.m. PST

Viva Tango!!!

Mallen05 Dec 2014 6:02 a.m. PST

The idea seems a bit junior High School-esque. Out of the movie "Heathers." And you know what Doom awaited the clicque,…

How about if we split the difference and don't post about Frogger for a month?

Weasel09 Dec 2014 11:08 a.m. PST

Always more of a Centipede kinda guy.

KatieL09 Dec 2014 12:14 p.m. PST

"Bitter feelings over the Falklands War, maybe?"

We don't have bitter feelings over it. We *won*.

I use a trackball on my computer (and love it), so I am ready for Centipede to make its comeback.

I never visited frothers but just think that Tango is a spammer

So he over-shares, in your opinion – just use the Ignore feature, right?

Personal logo Editor in Chief Bill The Editor of TMP Fezian08 Mar 2015 3:45 p.m. PST

Pretty sure the Falklands has nothing to do with anything Tango, most grown ups have moved on from that conflict.

You might think so, but I've seen the posts from people who feel otherwise…

napthyme08 Mar 2015 4:01 p.m. PST

I am with Rebelyell on this. Not having this stuff posted at all would cause it to stop.

Personal logo Editor in Chief Bill The Editor of TMP Fezian08 Mar 2015 6:44 p.m. PST

Not having this stuff posted at all would cause it to stop.

Nonsense. Did they stop when the editors and I stopped posting on Frothers months ago? They are haters and bullies, and they won't stop on their own.

Ravenscraft – I am from teh UK and enjoy Armand's posts.

Frothers is another matter…

Heinz Good Aryan09 Mar 2015 6:49 a.m. PST

"just use the Ignore feature, right?"

oh no, not THAT again…..

ignore does not hide tangospam from the forums, it just hides it from the front page. but there is a bizarre resistance to putting an ignore in that hides posts from the forums, which would satisfy everybody …. the people who like his posts can still see them, those of us irritated by it don't. everyone leaves happy. why this has not been done is completely mystifying……

Weasel09 Mar 2015 8:06 a.m. PST

Heinz – I'm thinking that must be a technological limitation of some sort.
It does seem kind of awkward.

Heinz Good Aryan09 Mar 2015 8:30 a.m. PST

the strange thing is how many people sneered at the suggestion….why would they care? that was never really clear to me….they get to read the guy's posts in peace, and the rest of us get to avoid them…..

other forums have that sort of hide feature…if you hide a person, threads they start disappear, and their posts in other person's threads don't show up. win win, the whole drama is over. i assume we don't want drama. we want to talk hobby stuff…..

Weasel09 Mar 2015 8:50 a.m. PST

Most people have a hard time separating things out.
If you don't like something I do, that must mean you don't like me either!

That sort of thing.

Robert Kennedy09 Mar 2015 9:46 a.m. PST

I ain't got no dog in this fight but threads like this are pretty predictable. Someone posts about Tango in the way others don't agree with. So then cue the Pro-Tango crowd and then cue the anti-Tango crowd. Its pretty much the same every time. And as always it goes nowhere. firetruck

Weasel09 Mar 2015 11:32 a.m. PST

Maybe make some tshirts like they did for the Twillight movies?

Team Tango and Team…er…. Team Not Tango?

Doesn't really roll off the tongue.

Personal logo Editor in Chief Bill The Editor of TMP Fezian09 Mar 2015 11:55 a.m. PST

why this has not been done is completely mystifying……

Why don't you put in a poll suggestion, then we'll vote on your proposal…

brunet09 Mar 2015 12:18 p.m. PST

Why has everything be in polls, just fix it

Earl of the North09 Mar 2015 1:58 p.m. PST

Its terrible that I'm forced to click on anti-Tango and Frothers topics….if I only had the choice to happily scroll straight past them, or just post something sarcastic.

Personal logo Editor in Chief Bill The Editor of TMP Fezian09 Mar 2015 3:46 p.m. PST

Why has everything be in polls, just fix it

Maybe only a few people want it, so it wouldn't be worth the effort. A poll will show.
