"Since reading the original Peninsular war novel Charles O'Malley by Charles Lever as a boy, and C.S. Forester's Death to the French and The Gun around the same time, I have been fascinated by the campaigns in Portugal and Spain 1808-1814. Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe Series was to continue setting fiction very enjoyably in this era. I therefore found it interesting that a new writer, David Cook,is now following in this tradition with The Soldier Chronicles. His latest story, Marksman, is now available from Amazon in both paperback and Kindle formats. I was rather taken with the cover and I contacted David with some questions,which he answers below.
