… of Verba man-portable air defense missile systems. "The Kolomna-based Engineering Design Bureau (KBM), part of the Precision Complexes holding, has delivered two new batches of Verba portable air defense missile systems (MANPADS) to the Russian Defense Ministry, a company spokesman told Interfax-AVN. "KBM provided the Russian army with another brigade set of advanced Verba portable air defense missile systems intended for the Land Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as a division set of these complexes for the Airborne Troops," he said. The newest man-portable air-defense systems (MANPADS) should replace the Igla-S systems of the previous generation that are currently in service with the Russian armed forces…"

Looks like a broomstick, with razors for fins, and a gold tee on the nose. Great design for scratch-builders, if you ask me. |

So which lucky private will be issued with this? All these new Russian toys seem to be prototypes or extremely limited production runs without any really impact on ground forces who are still relying on 1970s and 1980s vintage equipment.
