It is indeed strange. But in Italian is called castle. In Italian there is no difference between the manor and castle. Or as in German Schloss and Stein. Perhaps it was once a small country castle was transformed into a farm. Even in France there Château Hougoumont. |

Do not apologise to my Mrs Deadhead for speaking to her in Italian. That was what I meant… To me it is a nice menu, maybe a wine list. To her, a man speaking Italian seems to have a different effect……… Sickening (for me). Next time I take her there (early 2015) we will go to "il castello di Hougomont" It sounds so much better, even I admit! It is the language…….. |

"Castillo" can mean Chateau, not just castle (can also mean "Fortified manor") |
