Greeting all,

Are there any suggestions for Chris Foss-style spaceships for gaming?

C'mon TMP Brain Trust, you're my only hope!

Regards,
Keith F.

I've previously posed the same question…

Meaning this?

Not particular ships, but I think some of Zandris IV are evocative.

Maybe some OrcDef from Studio Bergstrom?

Doug, you clever man! Those are spot-on for what I'm looking for – evocative – and it's not a TTA game.

Once they perfect cyber-cookies, you get one. : )

Best regards,
Keith F.

Wait. Is clever man anything like clever boy? Should I run?

Take a look on Shapeways. There are quite a few Homeworld-ish fleets which are rather TTA looking in nature.

Who is Chris Foss and what is TTA?

Chris Foss = Illustrator/Commercial Artist. TTA = Terran Trade Authority.

@Alien57: Google image search "Chris Foss spaceships".

He did the art used for the covers of the Asimov novels and anthologies I read in the 80s. Once you see the art, you will probably know it.

Homeworld certainly borrowed certain aspects of the aesthetics.

Chhris`s work was last seen in the Traveller RPG in its 4th edition.
A lot of it was reused old material but I think he did do some original artwork for the then publisher as well.
Not sure what he did afterwards.

Homeworld also borrowed styles of decoration from the other great British artist Peter Elson – peterelson.co.uk

ANother great British artist… ;->=

The cover art TTA books collected from was wide, various, and, I thought, mostly anonymous.

I was interested to find that Boris Vallejo did some spaceships, and wouldn't be surprised if he's included somewhere.

I always preferred Peter Elson to Foss though of course they both have immense talent. But Elson was a huge influence on me
