As I've been working the way through the timeline, the Thunderbolt Division – exponents of halftracks and a Germanic approach to fighting – now have some new, updated vehicles, which are being made by Ainsty. The production masters were available to see at the Warfare show in November and I have produced a new sheet – The Thunderbolt Division post 348 – to show off the new, bigger, more capable vehicles. link

The Division has a new small half track in the pipeline too (that's at the 3D printers now) and I have – before I can get my hands on them enough to paint them – produced some rendered versions for the play sheet. PDF link

When I can get some painted – and some of the excellent new GZG Colonial Defence Forces and an MLRS or two – I will update the sheet (I want to do that from an aesthetic point of view – I'm not as happy with my renders of the half tracks as I am with the actual models…) but – mean time – you can start planning forces and ordering figures from GZG and half tracks and decals from Ainsty (there are three different sheets). The pictures won't affect the functionality of the sheet (which is a two pager covering all of the Optional Rules and Elite Skills that apply to the force.

This means that there are now 14 different forces on the Slammers website that are complete with stats and vehicle guides for vehicle manufacturers from Ainsty, Brigade, GZG, Khurasan, Critical Mass, Old Crow and Antenocitis Workshop, with figures from GZG, Armies Army and others. link

My aim is to continue to expand the choices available to players for using these rules in the Slammerverse.

Here's a shot of what they actually look like rather than my rather slack renders:

Very nice. I could see those half-tracks being used with Khurasan's Karkarines or GZG's Alien Mercs as well (for a more grounded version of Space-Orc-ishness than the usual rivets and steam approach).

They look fantastic and are definitely on my wish-list for Christmas! There aren't enough sci-fi half-tracks!

Any chance there will be an open/ turretless weapons carrier variant so we can add mortars/ MLRS/ pintle mounted cannons etc ala the German SdKfz variants?

These are really growing on me, but FYI the model in the pics on the site appears to have their tracks on back to front ;)
