Thanks for the Report – both armies looked great. When we played the battle recently I lost my Companions and Hypasists as well as Alexander! Indians were destroyed but strategically who knows who won? Garry |

Sorry, should have said – rules were a playtest version of Tactica. @Garry, I'd love to know how you managed that! |

Paul It wasn't easy!!! He went down fighting. Hypasists took the brunt of Indian missile attacks and elephant charges. The Macedonian Generals apart from Alexander, took ages to get their troops forward. Not quite Hydaspes, one of our regular Sunday games using Hail Caesar. Played against a friend's Indian army, see report on Satrap's blog: link I found the Indian four horse chariots quite tough and the phalanx had issues with fighting elephants! Garry |

I've retired from fighting Indians, always felt like a pin cushion afterwards. Nellie's and chariot's crashing into my very nice pointy stick guys. Longbow men with two handed swords showering everything they see with arrows. It was just plain awful, no I don't do that anymore! Some very nice looking miniatures on that table, especially liked the large unit of Companions! |

Hi Oldbob, I think I know what you mean. Having said that, anything that gives Alexander a hard time must be a good thing… |
