Hello Gang,
When will the PEL and Reg start for Cold Wars?
Thanks
Clif

FYI, according to the Cold Wars web page, game submissions for GMs has been open since Nov. 10. The PEL deadline is Dec. 12, but you can (probably) still submit games after that date. You can expect the PEL to be on line sometime after that date. Based on past years, I would expect it to be available before the end of December, with on line registration to follow after that.

Glad you brought this up (you beat me to it) because I am sure the deadline (which is fast approaching) will take some people by surprise. I'm sure some GMs still have not unpacked from Fall In.

Lastly, the theme for Cold Wars 2015 is ACW, based on the 150th anniversary of the 1865 battles.

Hope to see you there.

After my stay at the Host during Fall-In I'm not going back until they change it to some other location.

There are plenty of people who don't stay at the Host but still attend Cold Wars and Fall In.

I agree that the Host was in rough shape for Fall In, especially on Sunday when the water system failed. If that had happened on Saturday morning, it might have been the straw that broke the Host's back as far as future conventions are concerned. ("The Dirty Dozen" is a great movie, but "The Dirty Two Thousand Gamers" is a disaster.) Nevertheless, you can still attend the conventions and get a room at another hotel.

Hope to see you there.

I like the Host for games, but the rooms are going downhill fast.

I don't get it. You can't go to Cold Wars and stay somewhere else? Like most people do?

Thanks Ronin.
Looking forward to it.
Think of a Con as a campaign not a vacation, then the Host works ;)

Just a reminder to GMs that the clock is ticking on the deadline to make the PEL for Cold Wars.

Well, I am going…. and I am not staying at the Host especially after my last trip. I really have pretty basic requirements for a hotel at a game convention. A clean room with hot and cold water are my only real requirements. I have recently added a non-leaking roof. The host no longer meets these minimums. Not a lot to ask considering the cost of a room there.

There are plenty of better and cheaper options, many even within walking distance.

The facility is still fine for gaming in some parts. How much longer this will be true is unsure. The leaking roof and lighting were starting to become and issue in the ballroom.

I'd love to put on a game at Cold Wars but it won't let me register events. I have tried to go through their registration process, and I do so, but it never sends me back an e-mail with my password.

Oh well.

Most likely your membership has expired – at least for registereing for CW (since it is next year). Renew your membership first, then try.
