Now available form Amazon and other outlets: Warships of the Chincha Island Wars (1864-1866): Spain's Last Imperial Adventure by William Warner. It is companion Book to his two previous books: Warships at the Battle of Riachuelo and Warships of Salnave's War (Haiti, 1867-1869). Geared towards the wargame who want to recreate naval warfare in the Ironclad era it include many illustrations and suggested rule for playing the conflict. There is also a section of "what-if" dealing with the American and British squadrons in the area.

Any book about a Guano war has got to spark my interest.

It is amazing considering the U.S.A. Guano Act of 1856, that the the U.S. was not drawn in in some way. Perhaps too war weary?
