Now available form Amazon and other outlets: Warships of the Chincha Island Wars (1864-1866): Spain's Last Imperial Adventure by William Warner. It is companion Book to his two previous books: Warships at the Battle of Riachuelo and Warships of Salnave's War (Haiti, 1867-1869). Geared towards the wargame who want to recreate naval warfare in the Ironclad era it include many illustrations and suggested rule for playing the conflict. There is also a section of "what-if" dealing with the American and British squadrons in the area. |

Any book about a Guano war has got to spark my interest. A link to Amazon for easy of use: link It is amazing considering the U.S.A. Guano Act of 1856, that the the U.S. was not drawn in in some way. Perhaps too war weary? Nice Wiki info: link |
