I recently purchased Mantic games; Mars Attacks game at SELWG in October. I duly painted up the figures and scenery. One of my mates had also bought a set with extra Martians, but he dosn't like painting, so is very slow. He also doesn't want to play until his set is painted. I was itching to play.

Now my partner, Sue, plays the occasional boardgame with me but not minis games. But I thought, no harm in asking and she agreed. So we played scenario 1 and I asked her what she thought of the game. She said it was just like all my other games, little men moving about and rolling dice, I was disappointed. But then she asked to play the following evening, we played a furthur two games. Then this week we played another game and after finishing I went to pack it away and she said "That's alright leave it set up we can play again" On her precious dining room table! I'm so pleased and pleasantly surprised. I can't quite believe this is the same woman who tells me off for having my "toys" all over the place.

Anyway I just wanted to share my happy state of being.

Very cool. My wife likes to play but it has been 8 years since we last had a game. That when my son was born. He has started to play so I am hoping for family game nights to start soon.

Great

My wife is mad keen on ships and boats so I got the Sails of Glory set – she likes it; she also likes to play Wings of Glory with the Little Prince

Lucky man!
My lady will paint horses, bases and such, but as she says, "not the fiddly little bits."

No gaming though….

Thanks for sharing – I wonder what game my Mrs would do this for. :-)

Just let her keep winning and everything will be OK.

Would you give her my phone number?

PatrickWR19 Nov 2014 7:42 p.m. PST

Update? Has she reclaimed her dining room table?

Karellian Knight20 Nov 2014 6:42 a.m. PST

No she hasn't reclaimed the table, but a friend came to play last night so the game was relocated to my den.

@Baconfat, after 12 years happily not married, I politely decline from informing her of your phone numbeer.
