link Proof that you only need a superficial knowledge of a topic to write about it. Hey, are you looking at ME??? |

Utterly awful. My 12 year old writes better pieces. I think the term superficial was being kind, John. DM |

This doesn't read like it's a native speaker. Nor, of course, does it look like they did any actual reporting. |

Looks cobbled together from the Google News by a 9th grader. "It is totally unexpected and unpredictable to which direction the hot molten stream of lava heads after it is out of the volcano." …fabulous. |

>>>Kilauea volcano has not erupted for the first time. Obviously or there wouldn't be an island. Idiocracy the Movie. We're already there. DM |

This looks a LOT like something that was originally non-English and run through Google translate or the like. -Will |

About the author: I have done Master of Arts in English Literature from Punjab University, Pakistan. I am interested in reading lots of literature and have been writing as a freelancer for various newspapers as well as fiction magazines. Over time I have become a professional writer and I love it. |

"Over time I have become a professional writer…" Really? Could have fooled me…. |

Oh, how easily we judge others. I've not read it but I already know my response to this kind of critique. How easy is it to put down without first putting up. If you are commenting here as a writer, fair enough. If you want to do better, go ahead. Go on, I dare you. I'm fed up with people who snipe with their own wonky sights. The internet is free to all – you don't need to be part of the elite to be here, which is a good job, because there a are lots of decent people here who wouldn't be if it was. Not all of us can make the grammatical grade expected by those with a higher level of education – it does not make us thick; it does not make our ideas any the less worthy. Give me the strength to identify and ridicule the PRIG. |

I thought that too, until I read it. Go read it first, olicana, then tell me if its just elitist sniping. |

SP, do I really have to? There is so much rubbish on the web, being added to, second by second, by the ton. My point is more general. I stopped trying to be superior to most a long time ago. I discovered I wasn't. Whatever this guy has written, and it doesn't matter about his facts or motives, if it's not putting anyone in danger or professing a dangerous ideology (such as Christianity) why should it matter. Everywhere I look on the web there is inconsistency and downright lies. If this guy is telling anything like the truth, in bad English, believe me, you have more to worry about. |

It just proves that the Internet needs an enema. |

if it's not putting anyone in danger or professing a dangerous ideology (such as Christianity) why should it matter. I hope I have misunderstood you and that you do not really think Christianity is a dangerous ideology. |

Oilcana, I ran across that article on Google News. From that I would ASSUME that it was from a professional News source. I make allowances when I hear Little Susie at a piano recital, or see Little Johnnie hitting a baseball. When I hear a pop singer massacre the Star Spangled Banner or see a member of the Yankees boot a ground ball, I am less forgiving. Here we have what I assume to be a professional science writer demonstrating beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he does not know what the hell he is writing about. |

Oli, ferpetesakes, you make good points then snipe at the largest single demographic of "believers" on the planet. What, is, with, you?… |

This is all similar to cable/satellite TV: There are so many channels that they don't have enough good shows to fill the airtime, so they stuff it with garbage. Thus, there are so many websites and (you can see where this line of thought is going…. ;-) |
